On a recent trip to the Adriatic coast I was somewhat reluctantly dragged around a number of footwear outlets an then we visited the Marco Massetti outlet. In the store you can order their driving shoes in a wide range of colours and different leathers. Custom orders take about 2 weeks and mine have arrived. smile

I did want them a bit deeper in colour, more burgundy, but this was the darkest red that they had. The next time I might order tan.

Cost €220 . The choice on-line is limited but a much wider choice is available in the shop (and probably on request via email) as well as some already made.
Apparently a number of F1 drivers wear them when not at "work".

They look very comfy and make me feel better about some Addidas Terrex trainers I ordered. The colour (orange) was somewhat brighter and all encompassing than anticipated blush although the single turn speed lacing is brilliant.

They look lovely. They look a lot better value for money than some of the popular brands.

Need? Absolutely not. Want? Quite possibly, depending one one's own style. Lots of people who like driving shoes reckon it improves the driving experience an there's no doubt they have a certain sartorial elegance.

2 things have always stopped me from indulging

1. I have the same sense of personal style and clothing choice as Wurzel Gummidge

2. I could not be arsed to consider changing shoes every time I get in or out of the Morgan.

The right shoes do make driving that little bit nicer, especially when the pedals are a bit crowded as in a Morgan .... I've obviously worn flameproof driving boots in the racer and they give great feel (but a bit pretentious for a road car 🙂) ... by an odd wrinkle of the rules for Hillclimbs, full FIA fireproof suit, gloves and helmet are mandatory .... but boots are not. As the fireproof boots are somewhat expensive a good few drivers wear boxing boots .... neat fitting with no welts to catch etc (and usually straight black rather than lurid race colours so less intrusive to wear in public) .... everything you need in a driving shoe but can be bought cheaply at any decent sportswear shop .... I have some and they work well though I usually wear some not too clumpy ordinary boots in the Morgan as most of my driving involves walking about somewhere when I get there and, like Hamwich, I can't be arsed to be changing shoes all the time. The only thing I miss with the Morgan is not being able to wear my signature DMs as they catch on the pedals.

But to each their own and, although I'm too much of a peasant myself, I can see the pleasure in having the right good-quality tool for the job .... and that includes beautifully made driving shoes if that feels good for you.

I use Sparco driving shoes, not expensive at about £60. Comfortable and narrower than a lot of other shoes , ideal for the limited space in a Morgan.https://sparcofashion.co.uk/shoes-man-made-in-italy/

Very nice pattern in the leather Peter, is it embossed into it ? They look well made, even if red is a bit bright for my over-conservative Steve Jobs colour palate.

I did get a pair of the Sparcos in the sale some time back and do enjoy the comfort in using them generally.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I am a big fan of Conker shores, hand made by hippies in Totnes and pretty much infinitely rebuildable, what's not to like? A choice of leather colours, although me being me I have black or brown.I find them perfect for driving and they are very comfortable for walking about in too.
