I was driving a massive silver 16 seater minibus yesterday and some youth decided he wanted to go down the roudabout exit I was passing and drove right into the side of me.

Unfortunately he smacked my drivers front wheel and bent the steering arm, so me, and 9 kids and rucksacks (Duke of Edinburgh exped) had to get from Wakefield to Milton Keynes in taxis. FInally got home at midnight.....

dermot what a pain. I remember my kids doing the DoE.
We lived in the Chilterns then, so every year about now spotty faced youths with huge ruck sacks lumbered along the walking routes.

I think the DoE does them a great service, well done for helping.

As the sun was shining I headed down to the beach. Parked up by Felixstowe golf club I watched this sail boat struggle to escape the Deben.
The exit from the Deben is between sand / gravel banks and the shore so you just have to grin & bear it and follow the channel.

It looked to me that talking to god on the great white telephone might be happening unless you had good sea legs.

Well now, after all the hassles of getting the Plus 8 to New Zealand and the hassles of complying it we now have it at home and registered.
On Saturday we took her for the first drive. Came back "Buzzing" as Brenda remarked. Just a 20 kilometre trip to Waipapa and back through Kerikeri to home. Hood down, no side screens, what a blast.
Its like a vintage car with more grunt than most moderns.
Sign of good drives to follow. Do have a weird "jiggle" in the steering wheel when going over bumps (of which there are plenty) which I will have to investigate.

A visit to Claas the farm equipment supplier today with FolkMog organised by Simon who did a great job. We got to drive massive tractors, boy was it fun. Sadly there were no free samples.
