I will check the N/S and if needed, clean and dry it out! I'd rather not spend another £90,00!! You don't need to Peter. L691 lamp complete here for £26.95 delivered.

I thought a New Year Electron Update would be appropriate.
They seem to remain in their cages, the battery needs a top up charge about once every 2 weeks, everything seems to work. 2021 was a frustrating Morgan Year, I very much hope 2023 will be better.
I very much look forward to dryer, warmer, weather......our lane resembles a river bed.

Good to read Peter, I just leave my Mog on it`s CTEK permanently trusting the float charger to keep things...err..afloat.. (-: Quite by chance I fired up the Mog today to polish the flywheel a tad as if left for any length of time the clutch sticks...

Some time passed... as most know I ended my Morgan Journey in 2023, Tarka, now running perfectly, moved to a new home.
Through my 6+ years of ownership the car never let me down, but the electronics/electrics drove me to drink, figuratively and at times literally. The root cause of all the problems esd the lack of understanding of the importance of well designed electrical connections when dealing with canbus systems coupled with the use of units from different suppliers when trying to interface the various modules. The BMW designed part linking engine and gearbox was flawless. the MMC bits...not so good.
Various rear bulbs would come and go, I believe because of poor earthing pathways and the use of 1950s electrical connectors produced imperfect communication signals that confused the CANBUS modules. The result was that Williams had to try to reflash the software in the modules. In one case the module had to be replaced. Eventually the caar spent a week at MMC and came back fully fettled. Williams Morgan were everything that a small specialist dealer could be, but support from the factory was variable. The drive to Williams the car knew well, but I didn't buy the car just to drive to Williams...
In the meantime in August 2022 I'd bought a late 2016 Porsche Boxster S from the local main dealer to replace the Tesla Model 3 as I'd retired. and no longer needed a 4 seat "business" car. The Porsche came with a 2 year Porsche warranty, for £1200 I extended this to 2026. Porsche will continue extending the warranty up to 2031. I soon realised that the Porsche could replace both the Tesla and the Morgan.
Running a Porsche is not cheap, but on an annual basis no more than the Morgan. The dealer will either collect or provide a loan car, of provide great coffee if I wait. The car is as captivating, in its tutonically efficient way as the Morgan was with its Malvern eccentricity. it is a model that will go out of production in 2027 or so and thus is fully supported by Porsche. It is quick, moe comfortable than either the Morgan or the AMG C43 and will do 39 mpg on a motorway run.
Morgan has changed and got better...the 2025 Plus Four costs as much as a Porsche Boxster and if the Morgan dealer was 30 miles away I wouldn't be tempted.... I loved my time as a Morgan owner, almost 10 years of fun but it was time to move on.
Peter

Nice to see you post again Peter. Glad you are enjoying the sausage.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Good to read from you Peter, typing as another Morgan/Porsche fan.... My old mid 80`s pre digital Mog has been faultless, and I was able to enjoy it just a bit more this year, maintenance costs over a number of years have been down to oil changes. On the other hand my 2012 991.1 has had a few issues, but fortunately I too have the Porsche extended warranty, just renewed it for the next three years.. Circa £3k, thus quite a bit more costly to even to have it parked up in the garage than the Morgan...
Typing of EV, seems the Taycan is acquiring a less than glowing report from some owners I know...

Glad to see you are enjoying the Boxster. As a do-it-all package it's hard to beat, eh? Fabulous engine, comfortable and supportive seats, a great noise, excellent performance OR economy, quiet with the roof up but not too windy with the roof down... i'm talking myself into one!
I have a late 997 sat next to my Aero. Very different but i love them both.
