I'm guessing this has an extensive rebuild. Interesting that it was first registered in 2000, so presumably an import.

Original...! Over the years I have learned that originality and Morgan are not words that sit together too well.

To me this Morgan is indeed a rarity in that it seems to be as cared for as any Morgan could be and likely to have lived it`s later life life as a garage queen, Unless Lorne owned it (-: Garage queens can create unreliability issues for a new owner who might wish to put miles on it..?

Looking at the "unusual" positioning of the number plate and badges, would seem to suggest it may have suffered issues relative to overheating, which may link to thinking on garage queen status..?

A lovely machine indeed.

Looks great. The registration shows correctly and the OX prefix, if my 1945 Guzzi is anything to go by, is in the range alloted by DVLA for foreign imports of that era, so not suspicious.

I was comparing it to my, almost original 1957 +4. The windscreen is deeper and squarer, with metal framed side screens. Also no louvres on top of the bonnet. The aspect that intrigues me is that there is room for a fancy air filter on the carbs. Mine are so close to the bonnet I can't fit anything apart from a sheet of gauze.

Looks a nice car with good mods. Silicone top hose and Remote greasing as simple upgrades. No issues from me about upgrades done properly. How many of us have true original cars anyway? Bling added, improvements for reliability, safety, performance.

No louvres and framed windows not unusual for a DHC surely? .... could be the number plate mounting was done for a former non-uk plate and the current plate fortuitously made to fit as it's so short.

Looks good from the pics

I have seen that car in the metal and it is really very good indeed.

It was owned by my oldest Morgan friend for the last few years. The only issue is that he has another +4DHC 4 seater which is equally good, but in a rather different way, so this one had to go.

I do have a few pictures if anyone is genuinely interested.

Seems it sold last week already for £29K at Mathewson's ("Bangers & Cash"). Or was that provisional ?

The estimate was some way higher than that and the status has changed to "sold" since the auction so I assume an after time deal was done, as is the way.
Cheers
John
