Now that Elon Musk owns Twitter he apparently intends to charge subscription fees. They are also working on a paywalled video feature that will allow you to post videos on the site and then charge users to watch them. This is reported by The Washington Post, citing an internal email from the company.

I am not a regular Twitter user but I have already heard of people who plan to leave it. I certainly won't be paying for it.

Nor I, there's way too little value in it for me to consider paying for.

Musk seems intent on demonstrating that he's really not as bright as he would have us believe. As others have pointed out, the users of Twitter are the product - it's the advertisers that are the customer. If Twitter takes steps to reduce its product range and size, then there will be insufficient customer value delivered to the advertisers and they will stop buying the product. Who is going to buy advertising space on a platform that only appeals to Elon Musk Fanbois?

I had already closed my accounts some time back due to what I had been reading and bias that was being presented to me in the threads.

All those poor unfluencers will just have to try and sheer people on IG and FB, oh and of course Truth Social. Got to have balance.

I think it's just to get the 'blue tick', which means the account has been verified.

I don't think there's a charge for normal users.

I have an account, but only ever used it to follow the Worcester Warriors live match feed (which is now defunct). I don't post or follow anything else, and will probably not use it again now it's under Musk.

It's also scary that he is allowing extreme views to be posted again. Many people are so gullible that they accept info posted on Twitter as fact, although they would probably rubbish it if you told them the same in their local.
