Franko ... although I've not made any changes to the metalwork when I rebuilt my 4 seater I think my hood (which will be made as a replica of the 'Pekin/Paris' rally car) will look quite similar and a halfway house between the 4 and 2 seater hoods. K Here's that car with the 'no rear passenger' hood on unmodified rear bodywork ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/11/02/Screenshot_20221102-124026_Google.jpg) Sadly my hood-making slot was cancelled due to a covid incident ... as horse-sitting and being certain of weather related travel problems for the 1100 mile round trip down from NE Scotland over Dec/Jan is difficult it means we've rescheduled for a more sensible date next March ... I'll just have to toughen up for winter drives 🙂

I hope Franko doesn't mind but I've found a similar 'stock' car and placed them together .... you can see the less 'vertical' rear panels, the consistent rear body line and the more compact roof shape when they're side by side. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/11/02/20221102_173641.jpg) K

Thanks very much for posting the photo Keith. I presume you're going to cut and weld the original frame to achieve the lower profile, if so i'd consider reducing the width a bit to get rid of the broad shouldered look. It means that the frame intrudes on the luggage space when folded but I don't think that really matters. Frank.

Thanks for the info Franko .... I think Pat intends to do as you did except for going all the way with the rear panels to closely replicate the 2 seater rear end ... your car shows the work is within the grasp of an experienced car restorer doing the work themselves ... as long as the will is there.
If it's ok I'll copy the above pic into the 'Morgan Specials' thread ... nice to keep a record of those we find all in one place for future reference.

I notice Richard Thorne has the original 4 seater converted to a 2 seater plus dickie for sale. Done by Simmonds direct from factory. Might be worth checking how it looks. Lots of photos on his website.

That DIckie conversion doesn't look at all bad and certainly an improvement to my mind on the factory 4 seater profile, particularly roof up. Pity its left hand drive but maybe the price reflects this. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.rtcc.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/IMG_5870.jpg)

Why do the wheels look so lost in the rear arches ? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/11/08/Rear-wheel-on-conversion.jpg)

Not a fan of the looks of the dickie conversion, although can see the practicality of the design.
I like the four seat profile (although appreciate I am biased), with the hood up I think it has a bit of the Ant Hill Mob look to it....
I also find it massively practical with all the luggage space in the back, especially with the seats removed.
The hood is a ballache. I like the Peking Hood as it does away with the second lot of side screens. However it will still have the same issue when trying to fold it without creasing the plastic screens. I have plans to a) replace the rear screens with similar ones to the SImmonds Conversion (vinyl covered plastic held on with press-studs) b) have a couple of vertical zips put in either side of the rear window to make folding easier, allow easier access to the rear, and when it's rolled up and side screens removed, it will act a bit like a bikini hood.
