Take a trad chassis, add the Super 3 engine and transmission, and the Trad is back. The same business, lets call it Aero Classics, could also sell restored Plus 4s.
I'm convinced that there would be a viable business model, even if they had to use the SVTA process.

One issue with keeping the trad in any form is that, because of the retention of the body shape, the CX can seamlessly trade on the history of the marque with the fundamental change of the underpinnings literally glossed over ... if the trad was still made then that would command the 'continuous heritage' cachet ... and that would leave the CX as a bit of a pastiche and blow its marketing niche to bits

K Yep, agreed. I wonder how much of the production cost of a Morgan is actually down to the CX vs Trad chassis? The bodywork and running gear is going to be broadly comparable, and although the ally chassis is going to cost more, I'm not convinced it would be that much more. Rather than building a Super 3 Trad, I wonder if it might not be a better bet to produce a more 'civilised' (ie with decent weather equipment) Super 3?

I would suggest there is little doubt the concept and style of the Morgan product is excellent.
The problems in my view are; 1) build & quality control 2) customer & dealer service 3) communication.
The horrendous problems with the M3W would have cost Morgan a bomb in warranty AND customer confidence Things seemed to have improved with the recent CX brake issues so let's hope that continues when they address the suspension sagging. Gone are the days of the long waiting list and the reported lineup of CX vehicles in the second-hand market at value prices doesn't help.
Let's wish Massimo and his new charge well ....

I suspect you are spot on Tim, in my ideal imagined world it would be nice to think of both Latin parties sitting down over a bottle of Grappa discussing the possibilities of such a project.
