I understood the exhaust manifold was cast into the head on the B58. The two cast iron pipes that come out from this directly feed the twin scroll turbo immediately below. CAT is after that surely.

Hello to all TM writer and reader,
as I can see our new exhaust development has arrived on Talk Morgan as well.
We don`t produce it by our own, we`ve got an expert for such performance conversions over here in Hamburg. They already produced the tubular exhaust manifolds and exhausts with flaps for the Aero and last Plus 8 models with
the BMW 4.8 engines. The normal power output of the BMW engines is around 325 - 330 BHP, after fitting our tubular exhausts manifolds with high performance race catalysts and a little ECU mapping we touch 400 BHP and the car performance is fully different. We could sell several of those system by a very high satisfaction of our customers. Cause even the side exit exhaust on the last Plus 8`s and Aero`s hasn´t been homologated, we now can offer an original factory exhaust with flaps to switch it less loud. Over here in Hamburg there is a Police group called "Auto Poser"especially for loud car exhausts, they confiscate loud cars and check the exhausts for road legality.
But back to the Plus Six exhaust.....
In comparison to the Factory sport exhaust which isn`t homologated, we will offer our system with German and hopefully European certificate. So our exhaust will be fully road legal and offers an fantastic sound. Rolling road test has been done in the meantime and the result has been very good. A different downpipe with the highest performance HJS stainless steel catalysts (Euro 6 temp) has been fitted for testing purposes as well.
Cause we are still developing the system, it is not the time now to offer all informations. We will do that when everything is ready.
The main problem is the acceptance of MMC for what we do over here...they are absolutely not happy about....
For to be fair I have to mention that MMC offers a new and different sport exhaust for the Plus Six now. Up to now we didn`t fit it, so I can`t say anything about the sound of this system. It looks different to the first factory sport exhaust,
but it isn`t homologated as well.
So far for now

Thanks for the update and full story Franky, I copied your images from Facebook when they first appeared as a common moan about the new car has been the rather lame sounding exhaust and we have a few owners on TM that may well be interested in your upgrade. I witnessed the factory Plus Six being nailed up the hill at Goodwood Festival of Speed and struggled to hear it ! I haven't heard the MMC sport version either so we wait and see.

Hi Richard,
the sound of the first factory sport exhaust is really disappointing. If I remember it correctly the standard exhaust offers 71 db and the sport exhaust 74 db.
The thing is that we are not allowed to deliver a higher decibel output at idle speed. The newest flap exhausts now need to be silent/closed when engine is started.
In former times the exhaust flaps have been vacuum driven. Cause no vacuum when engine is started they did start loud - with flaps open.
Now the flaps are driven by electronic (CAN driven), they have to be always closed when engine is started.
When you drive in normal mode flaps will open @ 4200 rpm
When you drive in sport mode the flaps will open @ around 3200 or 3500 rpm
When you select Sport + mode the flaps are fully open all the time. Customers can install an illegal switch (we don`t fit it) to open flaps by hand/switch when wanted.
This is not allowed ;-)
We already bought a special microphone. We fixed it at the rear end during driving test and made some records - sounds really good I can promise so far.
We will let you know soon....
Firstly we will have to find a solution with those who don`t allow what we are doing....

Hi Frank,
Thank you for taking the time to provide a lot more interesting detail on the thinking around your new system, I had no idea you must be so careful with the "noise police" quite a lot of trickery involved getting around this too.
I can't wait to hear your new system, I guess you will put it up on your homepage when the time is right and you have all your checks done
Keep us updated on TM if you can as there is a huge amount of interest in MP products.

Will be taking a closer look when the warranty runs out. I think the MP exhaust would help with the low ground clearance also. It looks like the first box is smaller and sits closer to the underside of the car.

Hi Mike,
we are not fully sure if our system really offers more ground clearance as the factory exhaust.
Today we did measure the ground clearance on a Plus Six with our system.
But up to now not on a factory system. As soon as we have in a Plus Six with std exhaust we will measure that on as well and let you know.

Thanks for the clarification Frank and I would be grateful if you could share your findings. From what I have seen it appears the centre box is smaller in diameter, therefore would give additional clearance if mounted on the same centreline?
I guess any measurements should be taken from the bottom of the car?
