Hi - looking for some advice.

Has anyone any experience of Phils centra conversion - are there any problems or issues with the car after it was fitted?

Many thanks Dave

Only issue I've had since fitting it is that his PU inserts aquashed down leading to excessive play and noise from the coupling.so I stuck in a new set of standard Centa rollers and it went back to working really well.
I'm happy with it. Changing the rollers is now a bit of a fiddly nuisance rather than the major engine out job that it was.

I fitted the conversion and it so far seems fine. I probably put in a newer set of Rollers that Phil provided, they were brown in color. Not sure if Calum used the same one I did but mine are holding well so far, although I only have about 500 miles on them.

I am running Stage 2 w/roller rockers to give you an idea of what power is being put to the rollers.

Calum nailed it, they are soooo much easier to change now that the conversion is done.

Phil Bleazey's Centa conversions are generally reliable, however there have been a few failures recently some at relatively low mileages since conversion.

Please check with him but I understand Phil is no longer supporting third party or owner fitting but will supply and fit the mod if you send the engine to him.

Alternatively contact Craig at M3WServices (www.m3wservices.com) who may be able to offer an alternative upgrade.

No problems at all with my conversion. Best thing I did in my opinion.

My friend and myself towed his three wheeler up to Phil'sand did the conversion under his expert supervision, the rubbers lasted about 2k from memory before they once more imploded for the third time in its very short life. The rubbers were much easier to replace once the conversion was done, could possibly be done on the side of the road if you can jack the car up unless your about 7stone with long arms and small hands.....

Agree with Chris' comment - Phil has been continuously improving his Centa "mod" kit. My 2021 conversion was one that unfortunately needed redoing in 2022 but all is working well now, and running Centa black rubbers in the "Centa" drive. Great for peace of mind and better smoothness...

I have the same experience with the conversion. Some of them do get problems with the splines for a not (yet) known reason.
Phil is doing his utmost best to find out why some run problem free and some others doesn’t.
At this moment it looks like that Phil’s Centa hub needs a much more tight fit on the crankshaft as the original Centa. That could be the reason he prefer fitting only done by himself.
When the splines problems are solved this conversion is almost a must on every M3W.

Best Mog mod I have done.
No problems since fitting in 2019.
One change of inserts, more to practice doing it than needed.

@Nippy. How many miles you did after the conversion?
