Hello everyone.
I suppose I count as a lapsed member (only ever posting once and not properly introducing myself ... rude or what?). A couple of years ago I sold my 8 years owned Duratec Plus4 and immediately began to feel that Morgan 'hole'. I have hastily bought a rather old, tired (read rough) 4/4 Competition and will certainly be seeking advice in the future from this forum and it's extremely knowledgeable members. The car has 'potential' (I wonder how many times that has been said) and I would like to slowly get it back to being a drivable, enjoyable and fun road car.
I have followed posts here (lurker) since I got my Plus4, so quite a few years, and I have a great respect for the people willing to share their experience and knowledge of Morgans - I hope I will be able to benefit from this in the future and just maybe contribute occasionally.
Best wishes to all,
Peter.

Welcome back Peter .... revitalising an 'old, tired' Competition model sounds like a great use of time and effort .... try not to gentrify too much of the 'roughness' out of her ... I know it's a very personal thing but I'm very much on the side of the 'user' rather than 'looker' .... they were meant to be driven! 🙂

Good Luck

Welcome (back) Peter.
Good luck with your restoration and getting back on the road with your Morgan.

Great that you have decided to resurface Peter, (-: Also great that you intend bringing an old Morgan back to life, which is bound to be a very rewarding process for you (and us).

I like Image`s suggestion of avoiding the trap that can be seeking to create some form of perfection, a car that displays a bit of it`s history/patina can be far more interesting for some of us..

Pics are a prerequisite and posting them is the part of initiation test... I tried and failed a few times..(-:

Best of luck in your endeavours.

Congratulations - the big question is 'how old is old?' smile

Welcome back to TM, Peter

The 4/4 is the most nimble of Morgans, and Competition sounds interesting too

Thank you for your welcome.

Image. My previous car was shiny and new (almost). This is to be driven, enjoyed and wear it's patina for all to see.
Graham. I have neither the range of skills to restore nor the wherewithal to farm it out. I hope to make it more drivable than it is i.e. steer and stop, and then use it.
TBM. 1970
ALL. There is a youtube video of it from a couple of years ago - NB. it has 'seen service' since then.

Thank you all again.
Peter.
PS. I would be interested if anyone has ANY information about my new acquisition - I'm sure it will have been seen around in 52 years.
