Obviously not I’d say

Probably SOR and RT would take the sane commission whatever it sold for. So if the owner accepts a low price then it’ll sell very quickly. Job done.

I suspect over the next year or so, we will see more distressed sales where speed of transaction is key.

Unfortunate for the seller, good news for the buyer.

Not aiming to defend RTCC but to be fair if the owner wanted to sell it in a hurry and that was part of the instruction also job done?
I think it is fair to say that RTCC does love the trad more than the Aero but he/she (daughter) know the market over the years.

Either way that was good value for the buyer and does not help S1 values if people do their homework.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I don't believe this was a distressed sale as owner buying another Morgan. Value's of the trad's is easier as more history of past sales. The Aero's are more difficult as there's less than a 100 rhd S1's in the UK. I paid 10k more for my 03 S1 and I thought I had bought it well without it ever coming on to the open market (which again makes it difficult to track prices). Come the spring if I have my planning permission for my new house then I may sell 1 of the S1's depending on what build costs going to be (I see them as a fantastic investment which will only go up in value and they're amazing analogue cars to drive with a fantastic soundtrack) love

P.S To make space for the Aero I'm entrusting RTCC to sell my 2012 Plus 4 Supersports 60th Anniversary which has done less than 6k. They seem very well connected with the racing fraternity with Richard still racing and supporting other racers (they have quite a few race cars at their premises).

Large history file detailing good service and maintenance, the car will also be supplied with a fresh service and MOT. 21, 600 miles only. So much fun for not a lot of money – just £39, 850

RTCC used to sell the most Morgan Aero of any Morgan dealer. I'd wager he knows how to price a car bu nice car or nowt touching on 40 thousand pounds is a good amount of money with all the doom and gloom about.

Cannot be the case when they sell for in excess of 50k on Collecting Cars sight unseen and not warranted ??

The £56K was including the 12.5% and the VAT.

I would say end of the day the buyer spent 56k, (was actually £57.5 IIRC) - what the seller gets is immaterial as it is their loss for not selling via another avenue, the buyer dictates the price.

I still cannot get my head around the low prices on some of these, I can only assume the seller/s are not clued up with the market and willing to accept an easy sale and follow dealer advice, usually sold SOR so same profit either way, so as a dealer would you rather sit on it for a few months or sell in a few hours?

Utterly baffling tbh.
