I begin to identify with Alistair''s issues, with a Supersports and a S2 to choose between, it must be very difficult. That's kind of you to make it sound like an option. If only two were both working, taxed, MoT'd at the same time eh? Having the Coupe back raises the quality of life a good bit. There is usually no problem working out which to choose between the ML and the Coupe! Glad to hear you have the frustrations out of the way and can enjoy Tarka again. Hope the good ladies horse is still well.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Had a very quick run out in the lovely autumn weather yesterday to get the Aero MOT'd - a short but fun run, as always and she went through the MOT with ease and no advisories again.
Cheers, Paul

I did the same on Wednesday, but a longer run from Salisbury to Willliam's Morgan. No advisories or issues and the annual service was completed with a clean bill of health.

My 23,000 mile +8 has had 4 fails and 4 passes (but with loads of advisories) ... the only clean (green) pass was it's last MOT when it went to the factory.
The worst performing car for an MOT I've ever owned - either that or Bell & Colvill (where I bought it) enjoy ruining the resale value.

The sun shone through a watery sky, we needed to go to the stable yard for our usual duty, I couldn't bring myself to drive the Macan again. Yesterday we used it to haul horse bedding... the ride is simply horrid. So I opened the garage door and started Tarka... the first time since 9th November.... plenty of battery power. I took this photo at the stable yard. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/11/20/Winter-Yard-2022.jpg) It seems to sum up the atmosphere of the moment. We left the yard and went for a drive, via Majestic and Tesco's petrol station. Dammit, Tarka is a nice place to be, so we took the scenic route home. I thought I'd made up my mind to sell the car, but now....I'm uncertain...life is too short to be logical at our stage of it. We have just had a reality shock, a very good friend has just spent 2 weeks in hospital, recovering from sepsis: it was close. She is our age, well pensioned along with Paul, active, fit and looking forward to skiing again after the covid issues. Not this year, the locus of the infection was in a hip joint, which had to be surgically cleaned. So no skiing this year. I don't need to sell Tarka.... so why take the logical, sensible decision?

Peter, if Tarka can still provide any degree of pleasure and selling is not any real requirement, then it seems reasonable at this time in life to extract a degree of pleasure wherever we find it...?
There is no way I could justify to my younger self owning two sports cars that are seldom used, but I am not young any more, they provide pleasure as garage art, a sense of achievement and are rather special to drive. As a petrol head it took many years of being sensible to arrive at my current vehicle ownership situation and for as long as I do not need to convert them into cash I am happier to enjoy them as I might, rather than put up with the hassle of selling any of them.
Of course in terms of matters financial given govt decisions of late put pensions and so much else under pressure, planning for anything approximating a reasonably stable household financial future over the next few years seems impossible...?
Yeah, enjoying that which we can and while we can seems a more than reasonable option...?

Peter, only you can determine the best path for you and am sure you have lots of TM friends supporting you. For whatever value it is worth, my wife had a stroke 11 years ago and we have lived with the consequences ever since. I’ve just bought a Plus Four - what I describe as my 30 year dream - and whilst she is super supportive, she will never really share in the experiences it allows me. Enjoy life and your Mog whilst you can.

David, your point serves to emphasise my thoughts. Live today, because you have no idea what tomorrow may bring.
My sister had a mild stroke 5 years ago, it has left her with some issues, but nothing life changing, so I can only hope that your wife makes the best of life. It is fantastic that she supports your Plus Four experiences, it is so sad that she cannot fully share them.
Yes, the decision is mine, there is no urgency. Tarka has been a great friend for us both and we should never forget that. We have an ageing horse that is retired, a 600kg pet, really. Many would put him down but we will not, he has given us years of fun, so he deserves his retirement.

Sadly, when you get to a certain age. friends and acquaintances begin to fail. In the last six months we have seem multiple cases of serious illness. MrsW had skin cancer on her ear. It was removed successfully, but how many actually apply sunscreen to their ears? The number of bald heads in open cars astounds me each summer. The plastic surgeon told us that you need f50 all year round. It's the bulk of his work. I used to be a baseball cap fan, but now in summer its a wide brim hat when we're in the Morgan. An old neighbour (mid 80s) has just had a skin cancer taken off his face. A colleague from work had the same. She is mid 60s. A near neighbour just had a stroke while in a hotel in York. He's 60. Not overweight, never touched alcohol or smoked. Active lifestyle. Now he's stuck in York until a bed becomes available locally. He's lost the use of his right arm & leg. Next door's daughter had covid twice, had a stroke and had to have a heart operation. She is late 30's. Then there are those we know having hip and knee replacements. Enjoy your Morgans while you can. That's the best advice. But cream up first!
