Dave, you are, of course, right. I shudder when I realise how many times, as a kid, I got badly sunburnt. But so far....so good. A lot depends on your DNA and skin type. Yellowish, oily skin, the sort that results in spots as a teenager, seems to be less susceptible to UK damage than fair, dry skin. Look back to your parents: if they had any sort of skin cancer then you are far more at risk. One of the reasons I keep my hair long is to protect my ears from sunlight. I wear a baseball cap or a peaked "flat hat". Dave, I hope Mrs W had the cancer removed, not her ear....

Sorry to hear that Dave. I am from Aberdonian stock and am so white I almost border on Pink. Age 3 the family went to the Far East for several years and I was running around in a pair of shorts and flipflops. I certainly came back a very different colour. My first day in UK school on return had the locals trying to work out quite what I was.
I may have it wrong but believe the appropriate skin care was olive oil to keep my skin from drying out. Slightly different from today's guidance. Needless to say, I have also had several visits to the doctors to have nasty bits cut off/out also. To some extent the Mog was a reaction to the sobering discussions had in those meetings.
Mortality is an ugly word.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

One of the reasons I keep my hair long is to protect my ears from sunlight. I wear a baseball cap or a peaked "flat hat". Dave, I hope Mrs W had the cancer removed, not her ear.... Well Peter, MrsW has long hair, and it didn't help. The cancer was Basal cell carcinoma. It appeared around the end of march, looking like a small boil. It then developed what appeared to be multiple heads, before morping into what resembled a wart. Six weeks later it was the size of a large blueberry, and increasing in size every day. As it happened I had used a private clinic a few months earlier for a worrying mark on my arm and seen a consultant plastic surgeon. So it became obvious to us that MrsW should go the same route. It was all resolved in a few weeks, but a long wait would have increased the risk considerably. Because ears don't have much surplus skin, it required a skin graft, so although it was a walk in - walk out local anaesthetic op, the stress levels and the waiting, even for a short time took its toll. The skin graft site is almost invisible now. Her ear damage is hardly noticeable, although close up, it's thin because he removed the cartilage, and a slightly different shade of pink. The speed at which it developed was something of a shock. Exposure is cumulative and so age increases the risks significantly. So cream up and get a hat!

Dave sorry to read you two have had a session of removals too.
We both had similar this year on the NHS and their service and aftercare was impressive, both of us were day patients within a fortnight of diagnosis. We both needed a second removal on the same sites, mine requiring a 10mm X 45mm and 10 stitches fortunately on my forearm. Mine was typical BCC a very uneven mole, my good ladies was far more worrying as it presented itself as an intermittent light bleeding from an area of her nose with zero discolouration or discernable marks, after the second bite at it she required a graft which thankfully has settled down nicely now.
Too much unprotected sun whilst working overseas was the most likely cause it was suggested by the professionals.
As Dave said cover up and slap on the F50.

Yup, I've had a few BCC removed, mostly from my back. Again time overseas the most likely cause. Once you've had one there is a 50% chance of a second apparently. If you get the second then it goes up to 70%+ you will have more (that was my Dr's comment when he found 3 on my back). If found early treatable with a cream (for genital warts). Not much use to me on my back nowadays as I don't have anyone to apply it daily With the Covid lockdown I haven't been able to get back for a further skin check - my surgery suffering with staff sickness/shortages. I might have to try another just for a skin check. I won't comment on the Receptionist's advice...

Good luck Graham, keep on phoning and get an appointment mate. That is the weakest link with us too getting through the interface.
We were lucky at the day treatment centre we attended as they said any queries at all in the future ring them direct. With the holiday makers and loads of people pursuing outdoor activities down here they are damn busy but from our experience well on top of it all.

Someone has!
There's a navy blue (?) S3 or S4 Aero parked around the corner from me on Second Avenue in Hove - by the building I park my S5 in.

7th April 2023 and my 71st birthday so I washed Tarka, started immediately after sitting in the garage since December....with a battery conditioner. Today I'll pull her out again and polish. Next week we have an appointment with a photographer to start the sale process. The decision has been made, recent developments with health and finances have firmed up our resolve, but it wasn't easy.

That was certainly not an easy decision and sad news that you are parting with your Morgan... in any case, happy belated birthday 🎂
