The service schedule has been posted on a thread before and from memory it does state about "check Centa rollers" as a service item - which is impossible on a standard M3W... [/quote] If you had the Centa fitted to a car that originally had the Harley type compensator you will have hole in the housing originally intended to grease the compensator. A boroscope through the hole will allow inspection.

Yes you're right. You can. And on all Centa bell houses if I'm not wrong. I've seen precisely Stevo666 doing it in their workshop. But with a boroscope you can only check that the rollers are there, and, unless they miss a big chunk at the front where you come in with the boroscope, you won't see much more. If the rollers are cracked or miss a chunk in the back, you will not be able to appreciate it.

As Javier says, you can only see if the Centa rollers are still there with a boroscope and the standard Centa. I have removed, inspected, lubricated and refitted my Centa rollers this afternoon as part of my M3W winter service, you cannot do that without having the Bleazey mods. These rollers have done a bit over 10,000 miles with no problems by the way. Maybe the silicone lubrication helps prolong the life? It certainly smooths things out.

If you had the Centa fitted to a car that originally had the Harley type compensator you will have hole in the housing originally intended to grease the compensator. A borescope through the hole will allow inspection. Not 100% true as a few cars have no hole at all....early HD drive cars especially as no grease nipple ever fitted. Had cars with Centa but no hole as well. And as Javier says, you can see the ends of the Centa rollers with a borescope and no more than that. And I doubt the dealers used a borescope to look (as its quite fiddly) - just a pen - to tick the service sheet box as 'checked'.... I find the silicon has normally disappeared by 1000 miles....

From what I understand any breakdown of the rollers happen over time rather than a sudden failure (maybe the original compensator did?) Some people do many thousand miles with no problems. I look on it like a clutch, at some point it will wear and need replacing and no point replacing it beforehand, if it gets rumbly and causing problems I will investigate until then I will enjoy my ride. I have a 2019 that I purchased new. I never raced it but the rollers were disintegrating at less than 2500 miles. A bore scope showed rubber fines about drip coffee ground size in the bellhousing but it still ran and ran fairly well, just a slight vibration. This is what I found at 2500 miles when I did the Bleazey Centa. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/11/30/9BA4D2C9-047F-410A-B6DC-FEC1D2AD82BE_1_105_c.jpg) Note the fine particles. The small chunk came out when pulling the Centa apart. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/11/30/18CC97C2-63B2-4459-9B52-7E0FFBE2D531_1_105_c.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/11/30/A28ED185-A6B3-4C6E-A76A-A21FE4AD95E6_1_105_c.jpg) Not age related but probably compound related or someone else who might have been driving it into a transport container was doing burnouts. Putting it back together with the pilot bearing installed. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/10/14/27F42A51-221C-45B1-B454-2B1E5F8D4D2B_1_105_c.jpg) Test fitting before locking everything together. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/09/21/0C1FECB5-F9ED-433F-B46D-615E52A71C18.jpg)

So, what is the collective wisdom on the proper torque setting for this crank nut? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2022/11/25/IMG_0969.jpeg)
