Em, i agree with the availability of parts for theS1 being an important consideration. The engine related stuff shouldn’t be a problem but the rest could be. Original wheels.....! Parts for all limited number production cars of any make is a big issue. That is where aftermarket specialists fill the gap or a good engineering company to make replacements. Trads have fairly decent aftermarket people for most things plus the OE suppliers of engines, transmission etc. I can see why dealers are reluctant to take S1’s as warranty costs can get big if replacing the “special” components. With trads no longer manufactured after the CX move, how long before Morgan made parts become harder to find? When I had to replace a brake calliper a couple of years ago finding an OE was not easy (Princess calliper apparently). I went Mulfab replacement instead. Now going ok after the weird seized calliper episode! At least parts replacement was easier with them. I was tempted by a CX but I can spend substantially less on the Plus8 to simply replace things like suspension etc and still enjoy a good car. Reading the CX posts makes me think a good move there! Rads, brakes, suspension issues being reported. A repeat of the M3W type problems! At some stage will MMC look to offload manufacture of trad parts to specialists/engineering companies? Pass on parts drawings, specs etc.? If/when they think they need to move away from trads completely then I hope that option is made available. A commercial deal to make under license? Anyway. The current economic situation could lead to offloading of cars that are “toys” might increase. What effect on prices? Interesting times ahead. Phil

Those of us with the 5 speed 3 wheelers are living through the fun of "the previous generation". There are a reasonable number out there which is helping but parts for the S&S engine look really problematic (S&S sold the design to China or India but nothing is appearing from there and S&S are not doing any parts). For the custom parts (bevel box, steering rack, clutch...Morgan have banned the suppliers from working with owners). Thank goodness for the various players working to help the community esp "Planenut" with the Alternative Parts List. Thus far the market for used vehicles seems to be holding up but access to spares may take its toll.

It will be interesting to see how many current M3W owners trade in their car for the new model? That might start to influence resale values if the dealerships are awash with used M3W. Rather sad to hear about the lack of support from Morgan or S&S for a car that has only just finished production not that long ago.

As a point of interest my mate spent more money keeping a fixing his three wheeler on the road for three years than I did in 16yrs of Aero ownership and that includes all my tyres 6 wheel refurbs Bosch starter and a new Pc925 every couple of years or so. Just saying......

I agree with the sentiment here but its the same for all old cars, look at the Ford scene the prices for parts are absolutely biblical but it seems to only drive the car prices even further up.
I think most Morgan's are quite undervalued (its a brand thing I guess) and will only appreciate in time as the brand is promoted more via Invest Industrial.
Interestingly most non-Morgan dealers appear to price them higher and sell them eventually, for whatever reason Morgan dealers do seem to price/sell lower on certain models., Then again if they can, and the owners are willing to sell its better business for them - the knock on effect is the brand value Morgan are trying to take upmarket but at this stage they are not at odds with each other.

Agree with most of that Nick but some of the cars up for sales at present nearly made me spit the dummy! https://krazyhorse.co.uk/collection...of-only-30-ever-made-porsche-heron-whiteCoupe at £205k https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/14086013AeroMax for £250k https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/12047430Aero GT £280k It is noticeable that they have not sold yet! Perhaps lures to bring things up a stage as you outline. Yet as mentioned elsewhere there do seem to be a good few PlusFour/Six models resting in the channel at discounted prices if pushed. More fun spec'ing your own but money can only be spent once (unless you are the government)
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Its a strange old world, Patek Phillippe has always been a luxury watch brand , but for decades was never in demand second hand, so values were quite constant. Then there was an auction of Patek watches were astronomic prices were paid ( by the Patek museum) and all of a sudden overnight the ''investment potential'' for Patek watches was created, second hand prices skyrocketed and on the back of that new watch prices increased dramatically as demand outstripped supply and continue to rise on the back of created demand. It also helps that watches are portable assets, helped by a bit of strategic market intervention.

I agree seeing an Aero GT double in price from one date to the next was slightly confusing, but I guess if you own every car for sale you control the market somewhat. Did laugh at the government comment

Not really any help, but S1 window lifters are Ford Fiesta mk4 electric windows.
I always felt that the wheels were a significant concern as magnesium repairs are difficult and switching to a 5 stud hub sort of defeated the point of an S1 Image wheels can make for the Morgan though apparently.

Hi Mark, I have an S1 with a faulty drivers side window lifter so my question is are any modifications needed to the mk 4 electric window regulator? I knew it was an obsolete ford item just didn't know which model...until now I'm just ordering a 2nd hand 1 on line as seem cheep and really available.
