Hi Folks, My wife and I have been Morgan owners for over 40 years (and past our three score and ten) and health considerations lead me to believe that a hard top might be the solution to our challenges. We seem to be using the car less and less and my wife's intolerance of the cold means that the roof is rarely down. Is there any firm out there that makes one that would fit (I say that in the loosest of terms) our series 1 Roadster. I don't want to go down this route but it may come to this or a Lotus Emira (loads cheaper than a new Morgan ) Roady

Don't buy a hardtop without a test fit. Screen angles and side-screen variations mean few hardtops will fit well.

I was going to suggest it would probably be easier to find a suitable Lotus...

Have you considered an improved hood, perhaps with a layer of insulation & sound deadening built in, I'm sure Shaun at Allon Whites may have some suggestions, oh and add heated seats too my co driver loves 'em

Our 2017 model Boxster 718 has a folding "soft top" that is fabric, but is clearly multi layer and yet it has a glass rear screen. It fits tightly, everywhere and is powered and without a fastener in sight. It is totally waterproof. So, we have all the benefits of a fabric soft top and a hard top, but sadly it isn't a Morgan. This winter the Boxster is a daily drive, something the Morgan never managed.
At the moment this 70 year old is somewhat conflicted by the two cars. So for now, the Morgan is in the warm, dry garage and the Porsche sits on the drive in the rain. One will have, for simple economic reasons, to go.

Bu99er - went to see the Emira today and fell in love. Unfortunately, like me she has a big butt and won't fit in the garage unless the tin top stays outside. She who needs to be persuaded will veto that out of principle
