You are either born with an enquiring mind or you are not with many shades in between, I'm glad I was and enjoyed the subjects at school in which the teachers were engaging, maths, science and geography mostly.
After that the real learning starts as you study what interests you the most and personally if I couldn't post a picture on here I'd give up as it is so damn easy and so many people have simplified the explanations so many times it's crazy, you just keep banging away until it works...

I have that thirst for knowledge and I hope it never leaves me.

I'll wait for the Hydrogen cars or Hydrogen fuelled ICE conversions before I get interested in the EV interface side of things.

Apparently California is proud to adopt the Green principles with many people buying EV’s, but the sale of Honda generators has also seen a massive rise in sales to go in the boot (trunk) so they can charge their Tesla’s up while they take coffee due to the poor infrastructure. Strange old world isn’t it!

Have you got a link for that? I was intrigued just how many people might be doing this, but I came up with nothing. There was one article from the Times of India and a couple of YouTube videos showing that it's possible, but I couldn't find any information about it actually being done in California in any significant numbers.

The only generator that can do it apparently is the eu6500is, which retails at $4.5k so it's not likely to be very common, I would think - especially as it can only manage c. 5KW so it would take ages to get any sensible charge into a Tesla.

Another bit of anti-EV propaganda, perhaps?

I checked with one of my Californian Valley based friends and he said he had never seen or heard of it happening and there are hundreds in the geek community around there. Probably a twitter fable made into an urgent 500 word homework item.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

As with all these things, possibly based on an unrelated statistic that's then used to carry an entirely different message. California is about to ban the sale of small ICE devices like lawnmowers, so it may be that there's been some uptick in sales before the ban comes in. I don't know if it applies to generators though.

Absolutely. I see that our local decommissioned nuke sites Oldbury on Severn and Berkeley are pitching to be the site (Severn Edge) for the first production UK Fusion reactor. I can't help thinking it might be a better idea if they cracked on and put one of the Rolls Royce nukes in there first so they could actually start producing something useful.

In a similar vein, as part of going green a recent report highlights the EU has planted a further 8 million acres of forests, in part achieved by the EU importing more food from abroad. However, the report goes on to point out that an estimated 11 million acres of forest has been deforested around the world to supply the EU with that additional food. The world is a net estimated 3 million less acres of forests(plus the impact on biodiversity) as a result, but the EU claims the additional planting as a green climate change imitative achievement.

Ireland has a massive beef herd industry which produces masses of harmful methane, increasingly the beef herds are being replaced with more profitable diary herds which also produce methane?

Yes they certainly need to crack on with this, I understand that Sizewell has become the most expensive piece of infrastructure ever built in the world. I don't hold out too much hope based on the UK abysmal track record of delivering infrastructure to budget and on time.

I think you mean Hinckley Point? They haven't started on Sizewell C yet, and the PWR at Sizewell B was a pretty good example of an excellent project. Started work in 1987, synchronised to the grid 1995, projected life until 2055. It can be done.
