This winter I am swapping out my T-3 4 speed gearbox for a T-9 5 speed. I'm looking for a 90° adapter that connects to the gearbox, and then the speedometer cable attaches to it. Burton has one, I guess they are made to order, and it says 5-6 weeks lead time.

Is there another source?

Try SpeedoGraph-Richfield Paul if you don't mind ordering from the UK. They have a lot of stuff on the shelf and will make custom parts to order.

That's who I used for my original drive, and Simon made up an adaptor for me to fit to my T9 Box.

This is probably the one you need Angle Drive

A lot of choices there. I sent them a message to see if they know which one it might be.

Thanks

Used one for my T9 conversion ... it fitted without any adaption ... had a problem with it and returned it to Burton last September ... still awaiting it's return.... Speedograph posted it back to Burton before xmas (accepting their word that is) and blamed postal delay (or now probably postal loss) ... sent untracked .... Burton are very apologetic and trying hard to sort things but they have none on the shelf and say that Speedograph are awaiting supplies of the alloy body.

Seems a well made item however ... these are difficult times what with postal delays etc but nearly 4 months seems excessive .... fortunately I have a GPS speedo to keep me mostly on the right side of the law 🙂

Hi Paul. I imagine someone in the Sates could help, but as you're dealing with British stuff here, I can't recommend SpeedoGraph-Richfield highly enough. They are very helpful and knowledgeable and I am sure they will be only to happy to help. I have no connection, just a very contented customer.
Cheers, John.

You can reuse the 4 speed one, with a bit reshaping of the original retaining clip.

Ford even left a convenient bolt hole to secure the clip to.

Whilst we are on the subject of speedo take offs, have you checked to see if you have the correct speedo drive gearing?

Bit of a pain in the arse to change them if not as the gearbox tail has to come off!

Postal system has gone to the dogs, I waited 3 weeks for a small part from Melvyn about 30 miles away (not tracked) and it took 3 weeks for a tracked letter I sent to arrive causing me all sorts of problems. Having said that my local delivery service is excellent with delivery 7
