Yeah all the rust is coming from the welds apart from a couple of stone chips. I'm guessing its either weld splatter or the paint didn't coat the bumpy welded area properly as the rust starts right in the corners.

What parts did you coat with ACF50? Did you expose anything at the rear under the boot or just everything at the front?

That factory frame coating apparently had no proper preparation. Remarkably shoddy work.

Front suspension and steering components at the moment as the rear appears to be less prone. I’ll review the rear in the Spring.

It’s totally unacceptable in years never mind 2 weeks as is the excuse “this happens if you plan to drive the car in winter”. If the metal was properly prepared you should be able to drive in any season. Jesus they are made in the UK for goodness sake so surely inbuilt rust resistance is a must. They seem to have not learnt the lesson from the last 3 Wheeler cos I was told that exact same crap when I questioned it on mine.

With pictures like this, I ask myself how much more it would have cost to produce the chassis with optimal corrosion protection. 500 pounds ? An amount that would not have mattered given the high purchase price. Every customer would have gladly paid for that.

The Morgan team politely declined my offer to put my M3W alongside wink and I noted they quickly pushed it under cover during a rain shower (it had the fabric seats). Very nice. Seats looked very long (and drivers was already muddy) making ingress difficult (removable steering wheel would help). Not sure the matt cowl gloss body works on this instance.

[Linked Image] It rained!

[Linked Image] Fabric seats - not sure they will catch on in the UK...

[Linked Image] Still think the radiator exits / side blades are a bit messy.

Never heard of electrophoretic coating before so went to the Googles;

in other words they went with a cheaper, less durable option
