If anyone wants a good example of the standard of paint on the front of the Super 3 it’s this.

Today I touched up some stone chips and rust before I coat it in ACF-50. The paint came off with the masking tape! I can literally scrape the paint off with my finger nail.

I’m starting to think something is a miss with my car in particular, they can’t all be like this.

Chris, you probably don't need loads of unhelpful comments ....but, that looks to me like untreated (no primer) metal that's been sprayed with a can of satin black. If it was me (I'm a picky 2009 Roadster owner) I would make a real stink until "they" (MMC or dealer) rectify or better replace.

Nothing wrong with being picky. It's those that see picky as being troublesome that are wrong.

I'd tend to agree - looks like there has been no surface preparation carried out. That won't be easy to rectify satisfactorily and you don't want a half-baked repair that drags on in the usual manner. I'd send the car back.

What on earth are Morgan playing at ? Does no one at the factory take ownership of the quality at various stages ?

Look out, they'll label you as fastidious.....

If I was close to the factory or the dealership then I probably would. Though since I’m the other side of the Irish Sea, I’ll probably try and get it looking as good as I can myself. I might actually put some PPF on the main tubes to prevent future chips and flaking. Although if I make a mistake and have to peel it off it’s gonna take all the paint with it. 😭

Another option I have is to wait until March. And take the car to the Morgan dealership in Cork, Ireland for its 3 month check up and get all the issues sorted, hopefully under warranty there.
