I have never been happy with the bearing noise from the Diff on my 2018 plus 8 . 13500 miles .(purchased in August )
I had the car checked at the Morgan factory in September they sorted a few faults and agreed it was not normal to be as noisy as that. The warranty company were contacted by Morgan and the whole process was organised by them , ( purchased from Sytner Select shocking prep on their part loads of items needed attention). After a few weeks of paper shuffling and the Christmas break, yesterday the12th Jan was the due date for fitting .
Early set off to be at the Factory service centre by 8.30 am , 2 hours 15 minutes of rain wind and heavy traffic and in the dark ,yuk. A scary moment at J24 M1 , 6 lanes as the roads merge then dive off for the A42 I had to accelerate to get my gap and you guessed it,it kicked down and the back end stepped out and frightened my passenger to death , but being used to cars without traction control and having developed the reactions of a cat we survived not sure about the trousers of the drivers around us .
We arrived on time left the car with Rob in service and had a factory tour at 11.00 am (the only one that day ) the most boring and uninteresting tour I have ever taken in the last 12 years . Was it the tour guide? or is the factory now so Heath and Safety orientated ,or are the new cars just not as interesting in build or was it me just wanting to see the old chassis lined up and simple engines being installed . It’s no longer free either when you have a service or work done on your motor . £29.50 less 20% that should help pay for lunch for the Italians . No 2023 models to look at in the show room either .,lots of 22 models around for sale ,and a couple of Super 3 . After a snooze in the cafe the car was ready at 4.00.pm new Diff fitted . As far as the service department goes first class service, from sorting the warranty company and engineer , ordering the part and getting me down and fitting it in the day .
A dry drive home in bumper to bumper traffic with a much quieter diff and no wet road dramas. Full marks to the service department nothing was to much trouble . Next trip in Feb to Allon Whites for a few trim up grades . The rear wheel cover should be back from Air Brushing by then as the plastic bag over the hole blew off on the Motorway. But that’s another story .

My only brush with the Morgan service department was for a Warranty issue and I have nothing but praise for them. All handled very well.
Just a bit disappointing for you to have such a major fault on such a young car.
PS - is the trim work at AW connected in any way to the incident at J24 M1 ?

Glad you got yours sorted, I see there are still 3 of the 50 "last" editions on the market at present which surprises me a little as I thought the collectors would snap them up before we enter the land of PP3ism

When you see how much they are asking ,that may be the problem .I think the dealers are trying to push the prices beyond what are realistic on some models .

Sorry to read your tour was boring. I won't ask who the tour guide was. Trust you can now get lots of miles with a nice quiet diff.

One for the price of two offer Richard ? Does feel like a bit of market manipulation going on. If someone will give me £200k for Shiney I might still consider it! ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2023/01/14/PlusPlusPlus8.jpeg)
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Alistair, it does make you wonder about the pricing for essentially the same product. they'll be in Lidl in a minute Shiney has to be worth that amount..
