Thanks Jimmy, Sadly nothing comes up when I search those numbers, so we have no idea of the origins of the catalytic converter used by Librands exhaust fabrication partner However, we do know it's not HJS as it would clearly say so and it would also have the words "Made In Germany" laser engraved on the body. I'm sure once fitted your new 400 cell version will solve your problem

The first shot of Monty's new exhaust manifold. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/JmXMHFt/FB-IMG-1675526311267.jpg) What a difference from the standard effort It certainly looks likely my new manifold, with the addition of a quality and far less restrictive 200 cell cat, will release a few ponies

That does look the business But you’ve confused the pedant in me. Isn’t the other one a pre-2011 Duratec manifold?

That sports manifold looks very good👍. May I ask if it is tuned to a certain rev band (it looks like a long 4 in 1 type)? I also have a custom made manifold and I am very happy with it since more than six years. I tell that to show that I like individual solutions. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2023/02/04/CF57D727-A0C0-47D0-B78A-B83525D8504B.png) I just want to make one point in defense of the auto industry. Ford also knows what a good manifold would look like. But they have their regulations because of the emission standards. They don't want to annoy us with ugly and unsporty manifolds that are much too short. But the goal is to make the catalyst as short as possible behind the exhaust valves to get it up to operating temperature as quickly as possible. That's why the factory manifolds look the way they do. My manifold doesn't care about that either, it wants to support the performance of the engine as best as possible.

I wouldn't know Rog I wasn't aware there were pre & post 2011 Duratec manifolds, but if MMC were anything like TVR you can't always date a car by the components used because they tended to just fit the parts that were to hand at the time. However, what I can tell you is Monty was first registered 1st Feb 2012 and has the excellent Mazda MX5 gearbox, which I love The car was supplied by Allon White Sports Cars and was one of their demonstrators, of course the first registered date and the build date are often very different things so I wouldnt be at all supprised if the car was actually build in 2011, perhaps Q4 of 2011?
