Hills Alive luggage, or at least something very similar, is now produced by these people….

If you have a Rimowa suitcase anyway, you can use it for tours with the Morgan. It is 95% waterproof. We also pack the clothes in large plastic bags, and it works very well. The suitcase has served us well for 18 years and it is light. In the pictures with the previous Plus4 SS in blue and with our 4/4 since 9 years. Buying a new Rimowa just for the tour with the Morgan would be relatively expensive nowadays.

The number of Morgan leather suitcases that you see second hand, tells its own story…look nice but simply much too heavy empty, let alone full!

The "Hills Alive" cases are now made by this company

Hills Alive

These cases are for use behind the seats only and expensive.

Behind the seats we use two travelling bags we found in a supermarket. These bags are a little bit soft and fit perfect behind our seats.

Like Lordofthewings we use a hard shell case with a cover on the luggage rack.

For longer trips we prefer an aluminium box -light and waterproof but not stylish.

The hard shell case and the aluminium box are secured with two KanuLock belts.

I have a large suitcase, SWMBO size, had a local upholsterer make a fitted cover for it but if it's very wet I simply wrap a bin bag over the case prior to fitting the cover.

I use a Peli Air 1615 case.

Apart from being waterproof its lighter than a normal Peli case, it comes in different colours (mine is Silver, looks more light Grey). I pealed off the stickers (thought them a bit gaudy) and being plastic it meant I could stick some velcro to the top edge to fit my brake light, as it does obscure the Morgans. I don't seam to have taken any pictures of it on the car.

One link here but shop around.

They make different sizes, but larger ones tend to be Black only.
Just another option smile

I use Highlander Loader 65l holdalls. Two fit nicely on the rack, and then I use a waterproof rucksack cover when the weather is inclement. They are easier to carry when I'm transfering to accommodation then one big one. I secure using Rok Straps.

When the back seats are out, I can get 5 bags in the back under the tonneau cover and 2 on the rack - even my Mrs struggles to fill them......

I have used a Boot Bag for a few years. A soft bag with good waterproof material. It has straps attached to secure it to the luggage rack. I have put a couple of extra press studs to improve the flap covering the zip. It sits lower than suitcases so good rear visibility. Used last September for a 10 day trip to Windermere and Scotland. I have put bin bags over it if rain is very heavy butno problems with wet clothes so far. Extra luggage is by holdalls on the shelf.

We have a boat bag for long trips. The model we have has been superseded by this one. https://www.over-board.co.uk/collec...waterproof-backpack-dry-tube-60ltr-black

We also have the Morgan plastic case with cover, and matching mohair boot bag. The case is so big and unwieldy that it's a chore to use although it looks good on the rack. The cover is a poor fit around the bottom and even though they came as a package its almost as if the cover is for a case without wheels. They all do that sir. The boot bag however is just the right size for all our hiking gear so gets used on every holiday.
Last year for our Scottish tour we decided to get most things behind the seats. We used the MMC leather holdall, plus various soft bags. Only the boot bag was on the rack. I fit with the zip downwards, but in wet weather it benefits from a bin liner inside.

We used to use a waterproof Samsonite case on the rack for touring. Never once leaked but very heavy in hotels without lifts. Now I use a pair of Givi motorcycle panniers mounted on the rack. One click and locked in place. Totally waterproof and a balanced load when carrying them in to the hotel and up the stairs.
