When I had mine, the first thing I did was remove the overlong bolt to allow operation of Q/R steering wheel. Good security feature. It's true you have to be careful it's fully engaged but pretty obvious when not I found.

I had fitted from new by dealer a full aftermarket screen but don't recall any gaps at bottom of pillar. The top bolt did allow attachment of aftermarket rear view mirror though.

The best mod I did was fitting the then available Stage 1 kit from MMC including pipes that allow retention of heat shields and S & S air filter. Apart from the sound the bottom end was smoothed out considerably with clean pull from 2500 instead of 3000 rpm.

If you keep them then I'd ask Norfolk Gin for some sponsorship or at least a few free bottles smile

They have nothing to do with you. So have them profesionally removed (don't just try and peel them off). Personalise your car to suit you.

I have the Fairbourne screen and no gap I have noticed, but note the car is designed for aeroscreens so the heritage screen does not "slot" into the body all the way from L to R - I suspect the gap is just due to Morgan not putting a gasket there.

I would think that your steering quick release was a Lifeline one Richard, they are better made than the later Traven items. Personally I would disable all steering wheel QR's but certainly the Traven ones fitted after April 2017. They have proven to be dangerous and have caused some accidents when the steering wheel unexpectedly comes off!!! All owners should read the article in this link:

https://www.mtwc.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/QR-Steering-Wheel-Problems.pdf

As for the gap at the base of the screen, put a bead of clear silicone sealant in it. Sorting the restrictive exhaust is one of the best improvements for a M3W. The "bafflectomy" works well but can be very loud and there are more noise restrictions on their way.

Enjoy your M3W, I remember seeing it at a show once, very tidy.

I'm a Denbigh lad and haven't moved more than 10 miles away so must meet up when our cars get back on the road, finally if your car is on SORN don't forget to drain the oil either in storage or before starting the engine, don't ask me how I know!

Thanks for the advice Taffmog. I'm still a Denbigh lad so we're practically neighbours and in fact you may be responsible for my choosing the M3W - couple of summers ago I was driving with my wife through Trefnant in the direction of St Asaph when a three wheeler passed the other way on the bend by the old AA box. I remember saying 'I've got to get one of them when I retire'. A meet up sounds great.

Thank you all for the candid opinions regarding removing the decals - I'm inclined to agree and have been in touch with MMC about some stock decals wich they are awaiting delivery of.

@ PaulV - North Wales did indeed have a reputation for speed enforcement which harks back to the days of an over zealous chief - in truth, I don't think it was any worse than other regions but the police were in no rush to dispel the 'myth' as it was a cheap deterrent.

Here is a picture of the gaps on another car heritage screen - I wondered if they're to equalise negative pressure or something but as no other car seems to have this your explanation sounds more plausible.

Yes, it's a straight-forward DIY job. Soaking the joints & clamps between the main exhausts and headers with penetrating oil for 24hrs before you attempt to separate them makes life easier.

Ginmoggie does you car have a batten under the front edge of the drivers seat to lift it a little? This improves comfort & is easy to do. If long of leg a steering wheel spacer is worthwhile.

Nice vintage style luggage box. May not be practical on high speed long journeys but definitely has a genuine nice look at short journeys.

Any idea where I can source one please?
