Is this a joke
Apologies if this has been covered. Others with Headley will get the same letter at renewal time.
Headley say that Hiscox will not offer renewal terms as it was 'unprofitable' but they have found an alternative called Markerstudy ( never heard of them ) The renewal quote is £406 !! Lol In the 3 years I have had the car its gone up by nearly 200 quid
This is an absolute joke.
Are there any insurers out there that wont bend me over and then insert a large pineapple up where the sun dont shine ??

I had heard of Headley pushing up prices now that they've been taken over, and was all set to switch to Gott and Wynn. But I was contacted by them just before renewal offering me another year at the same premium (£305 for unlimited mileage, recovery, legal protection, salvage rights etc).
It will be interesting to see what they do next year.

I’ve used Aviva direct for quite some time, it was around £200 for old fools but last year I added my 20yo son and the total was £400, an absolute bargain when you consider he pays £800 for his own car.

I use Aviva for one of our cars. I was stunned when the renewal came in and was less than last years. I used to use Headley but had a similar experience. So far Gott & Wynn have been fine.

I guess they bought it with an intention to fill in the bigger portfolio and are in the process of removing unprofitable in their minds. My view of Morgan owners is that they tend to be a more risk adverse profile and don't drive like their furry's are on fire. Stupid is as Stupid does.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Markerstudy are a large outfit and cover non standard cars - my Ferrari was insured by them for a couple of years. I was chatting to an insurance guy about prices and it seems that they are really suffering from cost explosion. Not only are repair garages hiking their rates but thanks to the pandemic supply issues on components they are finding that they are taking much longer on repairs with hire cars out for a lot longer. Then of course there are the price hikes on spare parts - I havent bought any for a car recently but judging by the costs for boats, many have doubled! The last service bill on my toy was double what it was for the same job by the same garage 3 years earlier!

The last service bill on my toy was double what it was for the same job by the same garage 3 years earlier! There is another issue in the background. For decades now insurance companies and brokers have poached customers from each other by offering prices they cant sustain and hoping that the customer doesnt shop around at renewal time. The government have banned this practice so the customer who does shop around should get the same price as the supplkier offers to customers who do. Obvious increase for some like me who play the market every year. That incudes those using comparison sites.

Not to mention if the airbags deploy on a car they are usually written off as the airbags are so expensive to replace. I would have thought that Morgans are a good risk (except for the Plus 6).
