I’ve just changed my kingpins and removed the speedo sensor. Put everything back and the suspension is fine but my speedo isn’t working. Is the a set gap the sensor has to be off the back of the hub. Or have I just killed it

Yes there is a specific gap. I cannot find the thread at present, but DaveW detailed the replacement of the sensor and the gap on a thread in TalkMorgan.

2mm rings a bell but I cannot be sure.

Also, the sensor is quite delicate.

Good memory Paul thumbs

The gap according to Dave on his Roadster is max 2mm although I think he aimed for 1mm. Dave's full article for axle mounted speed sensor (assuming same for Plus 4) here.

The sensor has a small yellowish light adjacent to the cable entry. With the speedo powered up and road wheel rotated as one of the 5 bolt heads passes the probe the light should illuminate, it's quite dim, you need to look closely. Be sure the 3 wires are connected correctly.
