Thought this might be of interest to others… I just installed a lockable filler cap from Newton Equipment; they supply the original filler cap for the PlusFour (their name is stamped on the underside), however they have just started producing a lockable version. It is the Aero 200 Centre Cap - Locking, Silver - CA-AA-128 ( A2SL ) available to order online directly on the Newton website. https://www.newton-equipment.com/aero-200-range.htmlFits perfectly my MY22 PlusFour, see pictures. Very useful info Gonze  Wonder how long before MMC upgrade the CX specs to include since the Classics have had a locking system for years, or will it be added to the optional charged extra's list

An option at c £400 I would suggest.  Being serious the thing doesn't seem to work well anyway. Why not fit a decent Monza cap like the trads have.

I thought all new cars had to have a locking petrol cap.
Also a locking cap for a MOT pass,
Just a thought I may be wrong

Just a thought I may be wrong That's what is said but the interpretation may be open, although any key required must be available for the tester. No mention is otherwise made of key locking though. Our modern Mini has a simple non locking fuel filler cap but it's behind an oval hinged cover which itself is solenoid locked by the BCU when car is locked. I wonder therefore if the twist to lock feature of the CX series filler cap qualifies in itself without having a key lock.

May I ask what you did with the wire tether holding the original cap?

Ahh yes. My original retaining wire had previously sheared off, leaving the original cap unattached. I then simply wire cut off the remaining bit of wire.
