I like this house and Garage setup, the ratios seem pretty good to me
Here is my garage that I redid in 2016. Photos are from 2016 and the benches are now full of stuff as I have bought more tools than will fit in the drawers I really need to clean it up before the MGB lives in there.
I put cupboards in the corners to hid brick piers etc. then for the walls I used plywood 30cms wide at the bottom and 40cm wide at the top to allow room for the metal car signs I had, in the middle is a product called Tidy wall I bought from the Garage organisars in Brisbane Australia, it looks nice especially with the red painted panels above and below which also helped cut down the cost rather than have tidy wall all the way to the floor. I can put hooks etc. anywhere on the walls.
For drawers I used Maxim metal tool chests that I colour matched the wall trim with, but instead of putting the wheels on I screwed bolts into the holes so they are about 1cm off the ground. Then I put down plastic floor tiling down going under the walls and tool boxes by about 1cm or so. I was going to make some drawers but decided that using metal tool chests meant a lot less wasted space and more drawers.
We are looking to move soon, downsize the house & upsize the garage is my plan.
Someone on Pinterest had the same idea !
I can see how that would work for many of us Presently I'm concerned of the ulterior motives in 's surprising enthusiasm to my insulating and draught proofing our garage
