I'm about to do a 10,000 mile service on our Plus Six. I realize that the engine is a BMW B58 twin turbo BUT does anyone know the part number of the Oil filter?

Probably easier (& more accurate) the just photograph the number on your existing one

Hello,
I cant give you the parts number but i want to make you aware of a known issue with the B58 engines. The oil filters can break during removal with the lower part left stuck in the housing. Please further inform yourself in bmw forums.

Many thanks for all your responses. Apparently only a few of the actual BMW cars with the same engine etc are imported into New Zealand but we have located a replacement filter cartridge. YES it took me a bit by surprise to find that it was an "old-fashion" cartridge!
