It appears that in photo 1 you have photographed someone trying to pinch your plus four....!
You do take a hell of a good photo, I love the 'open door and driving glove' pictures, the factory ought to be using your skills....!!!!

Spencer, interesting departure from your previous images. really nice tone too - do you use a specific LR preset or custom setting? Any clues on what it contains?

Thanks. Interesting. I'll have to double check. Same basic presets I've been using for quite a while now, with a few little modifications I've added/subtracted. Link below.

As for departure from previous, could be the marked change in scenery down here in North London as opposed to the Dales! Not to worry though, will be back north in more bucolic climes soon.

Spencer, thanks for that link. I have not really studied any automotive photography (other than reading car mags of course) but the Kahler work is really beautiful and if I can be so bold, I can see some of that reflected in your composition and tonality. I look forward to exploring further. Do you recommend his presets? Looks like they might work with the x100V too.

I really like Kahler's presets for Leica, and am sure they'd suit the x100 really well. I'd suggest a little play with them, as he quite likes the additional grain, which I'm not a huge fan of, but as a baseline for building your own I think they're great.

Wow! What an extraordinary day! London at sunrise through to the Yorkshire Dales this evening. Over 300 miles in the end. Almost all of it on A and B roads.

England is amazing. The PlusFour is amazing.

It’s such a privilege and joy to be able to explore this part of the world with a car like this. Looking forward to a whiskey and a good sleep, but thought that in the spirit of “have you driven your CX today” and as I don’t imagine many CX owners will have driven quite so far today, I’d share some pictures with you all first.

Special shout out to Phil Mcgovern who hosted us so well on our first stop of the day at Caffeine and machine. It was a real pleasure to meet and speak with him about their new Lotus, and motoring more broadly. He’s been a photographic hero of mine for a long time so it really was special meeting him today.


The PlusFour was faultless and brilliant throughout. Finished the 300+ miles with the roof down pretty much the whole day (maybe minus ten minutes of rain in the midlands). It’s a very comfortable car and just a treat to drive.
