Hi

Took the Aeromax out yesterday for an early spring outing and found that my indicators are not functioning. The fact that none of them are working suggests to me that it is most probably either a fuse has blown or the repeater has failed. However I have not been able to decipher the fuse listing on the fuse box cover to the point of figuring out which fuse controls the indicator circuit so that i can test the relevant fuse and i have not idea where the indicator repeater is located in the car. I thought I might be able to get info from the Aero parts catalogues that were made available by being uploaded to a Dropbox address a couple of years ago but they seem to have been removed now.

Can anyone offer help advice on my problem?

Thanks

Not sure if your car covered Malcolm but parts manuals are still available for download here.

Assuming it's covered by the 2016 on Aero manual there appear to be four fuses associated with indicators so I would be looking for a component common to all - wiring, connection or flasher unit although that's probably integrated within the BCU.

Richard,

Thanks for the speedy response. I have downloaded the parts manual from Melvyn Rutter's and see if I can figure out what the problem is using the info i9t contains.

You might try switching off and on at the isolator switch. I have found this resolves a number of sporadic electrical faults.

Martin,

Bizarre. After the car was left overnight the failure self-corrected. i did speak to Mark Baldwin at the factory and he told me that if it happens again your suggestion is the best way of curing the problem, so I will know what to do if/when it happens again.

Thanks again for the suggestion.

The VW Phaeton I had was a bit of an electronic beast. I had two occasions to call the VW assistance line and on both occasions was told to switch off, lock it and go for a coffee. Both worked, not certain if it was gremlins or evil minions.

Hopefully not an issue but worth checking the wipers next time it happens, I had a similar problem (but the wipers were also not working when the indicators stopped - great combo in the rain!) which led to the main electronics module being replaced..

Indeed, I had similar - though just a fuse for me. They all seem to be on the same circuit.
An easy fix

Will
