Home to Chagford. A couple of showers in Oxfordshire but we were moving fast enough to ignore them.
On the A30 in the Otter Valley there was a car blazing with various components exploding. Best option was to turn round and bypass the incident via Upotter. Mrs E called the emergency services so I got to use What Three Words properly for the first time.

It was our monthly noggin a few nights ago and as usual one of our hardened 3W owners turned up in his '34 Family Sports

As the evening wore on we had some snow showers and finally freezing temps - the owner, in his 80's shook the ice off the tonneau and drove home...respect !

Love Chagford. We were there recently. It's just about 50 years since we had a holiday there just after our wedding. I was delighted to find that fabulous hardware store still there and still the same. Brilliant. The hotel we stayed at all those years ago has turned into an old folks home....a bit chilling...

Chagford is a regular local haunt of ours and this place still does a nice lunch.
Their annual show is a lovely rural event too.

Mrs W and I took part in the annual GRRC drive yesterday. The start was the Royal Automobile Club at Woodcote Park, Epsom where we all assembled on the lawn. A luxurious place, I invested £4 in a cardboard cup of tea which we shared. Then an enjoyable drive down through the Surrey Hills, West Sussex and Hampshire countryside to arrive at the equally grand Goodwood House in the afternoon. A total of 198 miles and a very pleasant Spring run.

I haven't been in the hardware shop yet but I've spent a fair time looking in the windows. They seem to sell almost everything, what a place.

Chagford is great - I met my Mrs while we were on a dig at Shoveldown/Batworthy, and we'd stop off at the Crowns for a quick pint after a days digging before back to the bunkhouse in Widdecombe. Fond memories, and we try and go back every couple of years.

6:30 am, cold end of winter morning in the north of France, I go to Paris to join the new owner of my 4/4 Sport.
I take advantage of the small roads of Picardy to reach the captial smile
