We're taking a family vacation in June which will include several days in London. I'd like to take a day to visit the Morgan factory while the wife and kids are off sightseeing. What is the best way to get to Malvern and back for the tour? A quick google search shows driving and the train to both be about 3 hours. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Graham here used to be a tour guide at MMC so he will have more information on that side of things.
The choice between train and driving is a personal one. If you want a nice relaxed trip , then train every time. There are (or certainly used to be) direct trains from Paddington station in London to Malvern Link (closest to the factory and within walking distance)
The route by car is OK, but with the switch to RHD, a strange rental vehicle etc, I would personally be wary of this option unless you are very confident about driving in UK on the other side fo the road, and need the flexibility once in Malvern (other visits etc )

There are (or certainly used to be) direct trains from Paddington station in London to Malvern Link (closest to the factory and within walking distance) I would also recommend taking the train, don't even think of driving. If you were travelling tomorrow morning (just as an example), then it would be just over £50 each way and around 2hrs 20mins according to www.thetrainline.com

The railway station couldn't be handier for the factory either. Just a few minutes almost level walk in the shadow of the hills.

Dear Scott,
I had the same question in June last year. After I ordered my Super 3 in March, I wanted to go and visit the factory in June. Living close to Zurich/CH I flew to Birmingham with the intention to rent a car and drive to Malvern. When I arrived, not a single rental car was available (I made no reservation, my bad...). So I took a taxi and spent a small fortune. On the way back the receptionist at Morgan told me about the Malvern Link train to Birmingham, which did cost about 10% of the taxi...
So I would warmly recommend the train.
Enjoy your visit, it is a genuinely great experience if you are into cars!
