More good astronomical stuff:
Look in to the Northern sky later (if it's clear), to spot the green comet C2022/E3 as it passes within 26.4 million miles of Earth. Don't worry, if you miss it, you'll be able to see it again in 50,000 years' time.......or if you're up really early (about 4 a.m.) watch it here https://youtu.be/4DoQljuxO5M

GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH: Minor G1-Class geomagnetic storms are possible today, Feb. 7th, as Earth enters a high-speed stream of solar wind. Arctic sky watchers should be alert for auroras mixed with almost full moonlight.

SUNSPOT GENESIS: Since yesterday, the sunspot has doubled. One of the new sunspots (AR3213) has an unstable 'beta-gamma' magnetic field that harbors energy for M-Class solar flares. It is almost directly facing Earth.

Should we be worried?

No. This is a regular occurrence. Probable effects to radio conditions.

GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH: Photographers, warm up your cameras. A CME is heading for Earth, and it could spark a good display of auroras when it arrives later today or tomorrow? NASA's computer model suggests it will reach Earth on Feb. 17th at 18:00 UTC. First contact is expected to produce a minor G1-Class geomagnetic storm, intensifying to moderate G2-Class storming on Feb. 18th.

Just seen a note and photo from a fellow radio amateur in Cornwall that visual aurora could be seen at 3 am this morning. That's a pretty long way south, particularly as street lighting had not completely obscured the aurora.

THE SOLAR WIND IS BLOWING FAST: Earth has entered a stream of solar wind blowing faster than 600 km/s (1.3 million mph). This could cause geomagnetic unrest or even a minor G1-class geomagnetic storm around the poles today?

Potential for visual aurora at northern latitudes.

SOLAR WIND, INCOMING: A minor stream of solar wind is heading for Earth. ETA: April 1st. The gaseous material is flowing from a relatively small hole in the sun's atmosphere, now facing our planet. Arctic auroras are likely when the solar wind arrives?
