In a few days, around April 1st, Norway will increase the Ethanol content fom 5% to 10% in 95 octane petrol, so a short question: Will this "new" fuel affect the fuel system in my 2005, 3L V6 Roadster in any negative direction?

2011 onwards cars have to work with E10. Not all earlier though. Having said that Ford engines manufactured from 1992 on are E10 compliant but beware of any rubber pipes MMC may have added.

As Richard says it is the bits MMC added. On your car keep an eye on the pipes around the tank and the fuel filler. My 2014 Roadster seems fine but here in the UK you can still get E5 and the local Esso garages E5 is no now ethanol free. You may get more issues with your lwan mower & other power tools. Plus using an additive like Sta- bil fuel stabiliser can stop / slow down the fuel absorbing moisture.

We used to do some significant mileages in Europe, especially France and had to put E10 through the old S1 Roadster, never had any problems
You could look for an Octane replacement additive which helps with higher Ethanol levels - but make sure the brand is safe with CAT's

In Germany the is a notice at every pump how many Ethanol each kind of petrol contains.
Some companys got one (most times expensive) kind of ethanolfree petrol. And: it‘s the maximum of Ethanol in the petrol!

There are two things to consider. Engine itself. Is the engine ok for E10? Ancillary equipment outside the engine. I have a Rover V8 and when checked it is listed as ok. However, the fuel system ( tank, filter, pump. fuel lines) may not.

I have used E10 all over Europe in my 1980 +8 without issue except in southern Italy, Sicily & Malta last year where I along with friends in E Types and an XK120 had chronic fuel vaporisation in extreme heat, shade air temp over 40C which we blamed on ethanol content. But I guess that will not be a problem in Norway.

Thank you all for your replies. It seems like rubber related components in the fuel system are the only (minor) concerns. The ST220 engine itself will be ok with E10

Although the Rover v8 is ok, from past discussions on TM, I don’t think that the 1990s 4 cylinder Rover engines are compliant with E10.

I’ve been running E10 in my cars since it came in to use. Removed the carburettor bowl on the Austin back end of last year and there’s literally no change. The Morgan seems quite happy so far
