Today I hit 70. Not 70mph, but 70 years. I remember my 60th as if it was yesterday. Daughter is 30 years behind me, and her birthday is the day before, so we always have a good celebration. 15 years ago in August, I fetched my Roadster home. Its now 18 years old, which is astonishing. Probably the best decision I ever made, and probably the best car I've ever had. My Plus 4, which gave me such pleasure to spec and watch in build, is now 7 years old. Unbelievable. Time rolls on almost un-noticed. My Roadster didn't get out much last year, because the Plus 4 got the miles, but this year, a Highland tour and the Mog event at Brooklands will get some miles on. Plus other early morning jaunts of course. All my planned jobs are up to date, and so for now it's just care & maintenance.

Happy birthday Dave, and yes driving licence to be renewed every year from now on  Strangely it's this control of privilege that hit me most when reaching 70 although now on second renewal. Although some have queried please note any motorcycle licence you may have is automatically renewed as part of three year licence despite not being mentioned on renewal form.
