Morning all. I had a slightly eventual journey on the m25 at the weekend when the right side spark cable decided to detach itself without warning. I’d just filled the car up so initially thought the pops and bangs might be due to overfilling the tank. It was only after continuing to drive that I realised I was running on one cylinder which was a bit hairy on the motorway. Fortunately I managed to peal off and the first thing I checked gave me the answer. After plugging the lead back in I was on my way with no further issues apart from a yellowed right exhaust.

Has anyone had the same issue? Is there a trick to making the cable stick or should I just get a new one? Thanks.

Buy some high grade Magnecor leads (per the alternative parts list)...our change to decent leads and a nipped up top to the plugs was triggered by having the same problem a few years ago...was certainly spectacular having unconsumed fuel burning in the exhaust!

Thanks. I see the parts number below but don’t seem to find that cable on the current magnecor catalogue. Any ideas how to find this specific part?

Plug Leads: Magnecor p/n 2547. Spec = KV85. 55cm long. 90-degree end
coil pack, 45 degree plug, 12mm plug

Available on eBay. or via Krazy Horse. You can probably get them faster from KH as they usually have them in stock. I believe the eBay ones are made to order so may take two or three weeks to arrive.
