I know that our postal system is in tatters, but won’t get into the debate.
My annoyance is what was delivered to Budster Towers just now.
4 envelopes comprising:

An offer from Pure Cremations
Details of a local Sheltered Housing development
An equity release pack from Saga
And to cap it all, the Gas Bill




It’s only 12.20 and I’m now considering going to the pub.

but i have also received a book "Is there much more of this?" a motoring book by journist Andrew Marriott, which I look forward to reading.

The level of targeting now being performed is well beyond acceptable considering it's your personal details that seem to be everywhere.

Once you get on the list with a set profile then your name gets loaned out to companies who start to market offers to you. I figure we just need to play them at their own game.
Do give a false mobile and email just to avoid noise.

At least our April copy of Miscellany arrived to take the sting off a bit. Also arriving today were the water bill and a u3a magazine.

The good news is that I knew nothing of this until arriving home after a convivial morning and lunch in Nottingham which included 2 pints of Timothy Tailor Boltmaker. Mrs F is on driving duties for the rest of the day.

Our local postie is a nice chap, bit of a classic car fan too. He told me his is most hated day for deliveries is every Thursday as they have to deliver marketing and sales leaflets (that no one wants) with the mail, if you don't have proper mail due he still has to post your leaflets - so that's every single house on his round

We only got what we wanted thank god.

I get 2 calls per day, one from a man and then one from a woman (if we can call them that these days) both telling me that they are from the suspicious transactions team.

It is the same jargon every time " we have detected unusual activity on your account. One being a £200 transaction with Amazon and a £2000 money transfer " they then go on to say press 1 to speak to our team etc, etc.

At this rate my bank account would be empty by now, it's a joke as it is so obvious this is a scam but no matter how many times I add the number to my blocked number list I get a call the next day.

When it stops it will be a bit disappointing as I now look forward to the call.

Spoofed phone numbers Rob, so blocking them makes no difference.

Simon, was plagued with SAGA Cruise offers. I ended up phoning them to get them to stop - 1. I was ex-Merchant Navy so no way I was going to use one of their floating hotels and 2. wife suffered from terrible seasickness and there was no way she would go on a cruise. It took about 6 weeks, but the SAGA marketing stopped (all, not just for cruises).
The cremations TV ads annoy me - they're expensive, compared to the same offering from Co-Op . Not had one in the post - yet!

Indeed. I no longer have a blocked list, I have an allowed list.

Similar here, if neither of us recognise the number it doesn't get answered and this goes for landline or mobile.

Anyone that matters to us has the mobile number and will certainly leave a message, the chancers don't.
