Speaking of sadly missed comedians. Australia has lost its finest. Barry Humphries was not just a funny man but a national treasure. His incarnations in a wide array of classic characters bought humour and insight into Australian culture. Always irreverent, often cringe-worthy; he had the rare capacity to make us laugh and look at ourselves. Life was not always easy for Barry but I hope he has now found a comfortable seat.....

Yes Gordon it's hard to believe but yesterday would have been his sixtieth birthday so no age at all, with so much left to give he was a genius.

Well we had a lovely run out over Dartmoor and stopped by at Widecombe for lunch spectacular weather and loads of ponies and cattle around.
Anyway since the Highway code changes came in regarding safe distances to leave whilst overtaking cyclists and horses my good lady often asks for a refresher on the distances but I noticed she didn't ask today as we approached a cyclist and I enquired as to the distance. The reply went 1.5 Mtrs for cyclists and 2.0 Mtrs for horses so I had to ask how had she finally got this locked away, "well horses are worth far more than a cyclist so it was easy" she is different in a lovely funny way and just keeps on giving not bad after 52 years of partnership.

A Priest was about to finish his tour of duty, and was leaving his Mission in the jungle where he has spent years teaching the natives when he realizes that the one thing he never taught them was how to speak English. So he takes the chief for a walk in the forest. He points to a tree and says to the chief, - "This is a tree." The chief looks at the tree and grunts, - "Tree." The Priest is pleased with the response. They walk a little further and he points to a rock and says, - "This is a rock." Hearing this, the chief looks and grunts, - "Rock." The Priest was really getting enthusiastic about the results when he hears a rustling in the bushes. As they peek over the top, he sees a couple of natives in the midst of heavy sexual activity. The Priest is really flustered and quickly responds, - "Man riding a bike." The chief looks at the couple briefly, pulls out his blowgun and kills them both. The Priest goes ballistic and yells at the chief that he has spent years teaching the tribe how to be civilized and be kind to each other, so how could he kill these people in cold blood that way? The chief replied, - "My bike."
