Depending on road conditions, traffic volume etc. If I'm in the slow lane and car ahead is faffing about in the middle, quite clearly not going to move then I undertake sometimes. So many cretins sit in the middle lane dawdling along with zero intention of moving into the slow lane. Its just how it is.
Does anyone else ?

Yep, often. Not swinging across two or three lanes of traffic to pass someone who should be in Lane 1.

I wouldn’t say that, ( at least, not on here anyway), but if you were to undertake me while I hogged the lane, I wouldn’t mind at all😂

The Highway Code used to say that you could pass on the inside if there was a slower moving queue on the right

Rule 163 highway code. Stay in your lane if traffic is moving slowly in queues. If the queue on your right is moving more slowly than you are, you may pass on the left.

Many years back on a trip home from the the Chunnel, the traffic slowed ahead down to a crawl then a stop, we were in the Mog with the top down and on the inside lane, when a car passed at what could easily have been over the ton, stones flying everywhere, it gave my good lady quite a fright..me too..! I reckon the traffic slow down was a police tactic to try and catch the nutters in the speeding car... Scary stuff indeed..!!!

Yep, we are legally allowed to pass on the inside over here in Colorado and turn right (left in your case) when traffic lights are red, however, indicating or lack thereof is a major affliction here. We could do with that new law passed in Florida and some education on how to use roundabouts correctly.

We have one roundabout around here, smack dab right in the middle of one of our busiest tourism zones. I fly through it in the Morgan, whilst the toursist scratch their heads

The M4 around Reading has now been upgraded to an intelligent highway (I expect to see one of the many tarmac lumps that have fallen out of holes on mastermind in the future in order to prove my taxes are hard at work) and now people can travel with three empty lanes to the left of their outside lane tootle.

Still if you do intend to undertake it allows you to do it in Lane 1 and have a great gap between you and them. It begs the question "is it people from a LHD/right side of the road country who have not worked out the difference, nah, who am I kidding.

I am not certain I want legal undertaking enshrined in law as it will let the ars__ out to play a bit like the recent jay-walking law has. All it does need is guidance to those in blue uniforms to be allowed to use their MkI braincells to determine if it was seriously daft so they can act well.

Lane hogging is now an offence ie careless driving, fixed penalty £100 plus 3 points.
