Blackpool - Morgan Factory Tour - Skomer Island
Any suggestions for overnight stay in Wales (currently thinking Porthmadog)

In June, Im traveling in the Morgan from Blackpool to Malvern for a factory tour, then over to spend the night in Pembroke Dock, South Wales to be ready for the following mornings trip over to Skomer Island to photograph Puffins (mainly).
Ill get back on to the main land around 5pm ish I think and was planning to drive home that evening. Having realised that its quite a way and wanting to do the trip in blocks of 2 hours maximum, Ive realised that I'm probably best looking for another overnight stay on the way home.

My first attempt at a route is :
Dale Princess to Aberystwyth - approx 2 hours stop for food, fuel (any suggestions)
Aberystwyth to Porthmadog - approx 1 1/2 hours stop overnight (any suggestions) - Ideally somewhere to look after the Morgan.
Next day
Porthmadog to Bangor - approx 40 mins
Bangor to Colwyn Bay for food - approx 30 mins (any suggestions)
Colwyn Bay to Blackpool - approx 2 hours

Any suggestions to any part of this trip will be very welcome, only the factory trip (including the cream team obvs) and the Skomer shoot are fixed.

Just around the corner from Porthmadog is the strange Italianate village of Portmeirion, Mrs Cooperlady's fave Welsh place to stay, & safe parking

+1 for Portmeirion.

Unique in the UK, this is Clough Williams-Ellis’ masterpiece and among the most enchanting places to visit in North Wales.

He also developed Plas Brondanw gardens, nearby at Penhryndeudraeth and well worth a visit.
