Your aircraft theme has inspired me to add one more modification. It has actually made unzipping the tonneau a little easier - especially with gloves on!

I thought the Super 3 could do with a bit of Ash wood in it somewhere so I added an Ash and Walnut gear knob from https://www.builtbybasil.com/

I’m not 100% sure on it. I think it looks really cool but it doesn’t have the same weight to it than the original one, and it leaves a gap between the knob and the gaiter.

I’ll leave it for a while and swap it back if I prefer the feel of the original one.

I also added the stair grip tape on the foot step thanks to the idea from previous post. 👍

I can see your concept with the gear knob - I've been looking at the MOMO Heritage gear knob which is a similar style. Check it out as the MOMO has a leather top which (might) match your leather...
Maybe a longer leather gaiter, or (a brave pill and) cutting down the shaft would close the gap... In my humble opinion it is better than the standard one and might be better attached - mine is loose already.
Your new knob would look great with a wooden dash too.

The grip tape makes a huge difference in the wet!

Yeah I thought about cutting the shaft for about half a second, and then promtly slapped myself on the wrist 😂.

I've ordered a brushed steel sleeve nut on ebay to close the gap. And I might try and drill the knob a bit more so the shaft goes in further. I've also ordered some tungsten heavy putty to try and stuff some inside the knob to give it some weight. Worth a try as I'm probably going to swap it back as it is now.

I found an old adapter for a Mk5 Golf GTI aftermarket knob I had lying around, that uses set screws to hold in place. Let’s the knob sit much lower, and looks far better. I just need to add some weight to it and it will be perfect.

Chris, that gearknob looks very nice - good job! By the way, what is that adapter between your windshields? Is it for a phone or action cam? BR, Adrian

Here's a modification of the BeeLine bracket so it fits a Quadlock weatherproof wireless charging head (which I have routed the power into the USBs) so I can mount my phone and use it for sat nav etc.

Interesting - have you found that you are not using the beeline?

In truth, I didn't spec a beeline. I like the detail that my phone nav provides so acquired the beeline bracket on its own.
