H&H Ignition and Coil ordered. Should be here tomorrow or Thursday, delivery company permitting. Along with a new fuel line and filter, we should be up and about by Sunday (as long as the new wipers turn up - there were a different size to the Mog ones).

Spent Sunday and Monday going through everything, so am keeping the postie busy with a whole bunch of deliveries this week - little trim parts and stuff to get it up to spec. It is so much easier (and cheaper) than getting stuff for the Mog.

The wiring is 'interesting', so got a few snags to do there but most is working at the moment.

Already making a list of 'goodies' that I want to buy!

It seems to me that there is a distinct possibility that Mrs TBM planned your new acquisition very carefully. It certainly seems to be keeping you out of trouble.

Will certainly keep me out of her hair for a good while, although got a very stern 'DO NOT GET YOURSELF UP TO YOUR EYEBALLS IN HOCK AGAIN' yesterday. I think she is looking forward to me having a bit more disposable income now the Mog is almost paid off.........

Good news that the car is back at home and being sorted out.

I don't expect to ever need any parts for my MGB as every bit of trim etc. is being replaced with new. But I did partially chose the car due to knowing bits of trim are easily available if I need it, unlike the Honda S600 and Nissan Silvia I had before that was stuck together with many bits of unobtainium.

Does Mrs TBM have her own car or is the Mog and MGB the only household transport? Mrs Chris Convertible would be very grumpy if she had to drive what I like to drive, Mrs Tintop is a more appropriate name as she is not really fond of convertibles,

Mrs TBM has a company car (Petrol Hybrid Golf), but she insured for both the Mog and the MG. She hasn't driven the Mog, but will probably have a spin in the MG - she wants to use a manual car every so often so she doesn't get out of the habit.

Sounds good. I have my wife on all the cars insurance as well but she doesn't add to the cost. I do expect the MG GT to be more friendly to drive than the Mog, she might like it so much if might become her MG GT smile

She hankers after a MK3 Spitfire, but we only have room for three cars on the drive, and we can't park the Golf in the road as it charges overnight.

And I'd be the one having to look after it - not an issue, as I had one in my youth, but there's a limit to the amount of stuff I have time to maintain properly. About to get rid of some of the bikes for that reason.

The MG has proper sliding seat rails and adjustable back rest (the Mog also has both but adjustment involves spanners) so should make it easier to adjust for her.

Couple of things to check. Bottom of the gearstick are the OD wires, they can fray and short very easily. Best case is no OD, worst is several circuits inoperative due to a blown fuse. Also looks like the drivers seat has sagged. Very easy fix with new webbing and (possibly) a rubber mat under the foam if it’s split.
