I had this problem too and this is how to rectify as per Morgan Service Department -

The engine has to be fully warm to activate the oil level check. Normal running temperature. Needle in the middle of the gauge. Car must be on level surface.

Press the wiper stalk end and select the oil level – dotted circle and then egg timer. At this point hold the button to start the egg timer scrolling. The engine revs will increase and the timer will continue to scroll until it comes up with a level. Usually this will be 5/4 – full. This will take a good few minutes.

If this is done without the engine being fully warm and the driver drives off without allowing the full procedure to complete then it can come up with an add oil symbol or a low level.

Please remember you will need to ensure the door is fully closed so that you can read the cluster.

Once you have done this correctly you shouldn’t have the issue come up again.

I followed these steps and it worked perfectly for me with no further problems.

There’s a big learning curve in understanding modern cars versus old school ones. These days so much tech upgrades involving many sensors and built in software.
We got a new Kia last year and compared to the predecessor there are many differences to adjust to. Why some are there baffles me. They seem like overkill. Some good ones though.
I wanted to move the car on the drive, only by a couple of feet. Jumped in, started the car ( push button with clutch in and smart key) put in gear. Car wouldn’t move. Handbrake ( electric) still on. Tried the buttons. No joy. I had to fit the seatbelt to release the handbrake. OK, but why? To prevent numpties driving without a seatbelt? There are other systems that make me wonder too.
Ah well, thats progress I suppose. But the car does have a dipstick! For the engine not sitting in the driver’s seat...behave yourselves.

I say ditch Infotainment and bring back CD players....

A radio would do for a start 😀

At nearly 90k when new no radio in the plus6, electical gadgetry on the dash but you do have a jack plug and a 1920's volume knob under the dash you cant reach when driving. But it does look the biz stood still.

I checked my Plus Six oil level after returning home from Oulton Park on Saturday, nice hot engine oil and it still took over 2 minutes to get the level, bring back the dip stick!

All the other nonsense they put on modern cars in the interests of elf and safety are there for people who cannot drive.

And the quantity of those is increasing exponentially

Did mine today on a hot engine took about 2 mins to be fair, but sorry bmw what were you thinking.....

At least the oil filter will be an easy change unlike the series 1 Aero....
