Please stop...I've always wanted a small lathe for bit's 'n bobs, and now you've rekindled the 'what if' I didn't have the money, space or electric supply suitable for my desired Myford, so went for a smaller Clarke instead. Great for making up bushes, spacers and stuff. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/02/15/qG5YQF9ipwsnb7T-M9M1pVImOPMbnkQ0KRB6wXZBr7GF6GvczoI9AXgvtYjBY5mhRZucy6WlSyb_TeAZWEcpagijP6-dkH_0a3n0LvmD-rINDobMCk5MqGypFkcfThOOUlml4fhOLmEf1jALJxsXUDZ1VSWE1ZagRDGzvHH4WjxFht-y5RgdxbjFP3RR5Lj016aZno86.md.jpg)

I can't see people discussing the Anycubic Kobra Neo 3D plastic deposit printer in the same manner in the year 2100!
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Got one of those as well ๐.... I find them fascinating to watch building stuff out of nothing .... have used it to make the original to mould from and then cast ... finished bit goes in the Myford for final finish .... something very satisfying about using something cutting edge and something nearly 80 years old together to produce something useful.

Last year, I decided to renew my acquaintance with some swarf making equipment. I was going to buy a new "Chinese" lathe but Myford and Morgan seem so natural together. Form over Function ???? although both very capable in their own way. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2023/05/28/tempImage48npPL.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2023/05/28/tempImage9ikmeu.jpeg)

I don't deny that they're great looking things, and after reading all the posts I feel I'm must be missing out not owning one.......BUT.....what on earth are you all making on them....???
Show some pictures of something you've 'lathed'......๐

Julian .... a repeat from my album about my resto ...... CAD design to 3D print to mould made to metal cast blank to finished oil cap turned down on the lathe .... all that because the original Ford plastic one on my crossflow was so hideously ugly that I couldn't bear to put it back on the car๐ ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/11/11/20201104_103506.jpg) Have turned a number of other bits for the rebuild ... as I said, I don't do much serious precision work but the old Myford is indispensible for bushes and spacers and the like. Thatโs a nice spacious set up you have, Iโm rather tight for space in my garage/workshop. I wonder if I could ask about the Myford footprint, ie how much bench space does it take up, particularly how deep is it?
Thanks. Gary
