Safe, BUT I've heard from a reliable trade source that they will 'chip' you on price when you turn up for handover by finding tiny things you couldn't declare (because of how the online menus are set up), they know you've turned up committed and want the cash

I advertised my friends Jaguar XK8 on two of the well known car sale national advertising sites last summer. Had 2 approaches from scammers. Both prepared to buy unseen via paypal.

Kenneth just a couple of suggestion in case it helps.
It may be the opening bid, which seems a common approach these days.

You advertise at £10k
They open and £8k
You agree at £9k

If the value is there maybe £9250-9500

You need to get them to the table?
Just know the others up for sale at the same time and why yours is better or as good but cheaper to move it to the £9500
"meet me half way" is a lovely closing line.

If they make the effort to come and see it they are interested.
You don't have to sell it but the aggravation of having many people visit etc is worth something.

Do a google search for the car selling scams and you will get plenty of ideas of the dodges going on out there. The days of trusting your fellow human are gone, consider, qualify and verify everything.

https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/owning-car/357702/car-scams-and-frauds-safety-guide-buyers-and-sellers

Also be aware of the "can I take it for a drive", I will leave my (stolen) car here as deposit etc etc
Never let the V5 be seen or photo'd until you have qualified well. Never leave the keys anywhere.
Verify their details in some manner - bring utility bills and bank statements + passport and driving licence. People may fake one but not all.
Great test if the details don't line up - "where do you live - describe it to me (colour of front door walls etc) then go to google maps and put in the address. Go to streetview (little bloke in lower corner, drag-drop him on road near address) and confirm it. If it is a fake address or the description fails then be prepared to back out firmly and say you would like to delay as you have a better offer coming to see it later. Avoid the confrontation.
If you explain that you have already had some scams then real people will not mind being honest and complying.

Also have a couple of people around (some old friends just come over or a chat and have a final look at the car prior to me letting it go) on the visit.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I'm afraid so. Or their valuations are ludicrous. I put my limited edition, immaculate condition, low mileage Roadster details into their site and was offered £7400!

They offered me £1500 for a car worth £500, didn't bother wasting my time with them sold it to my great niece for £300.
