Yesterday, whilst in a slow traffic queue, I noticed that my fuel gauge had gone to full, even though I only had about a quarter of a tank, and the coolant temperature gauge was showing zero. Oil pressure gauge was still ok. After some time, when the queue came to a halt, I switched off the ignition and on restarting a few minutes later, the gauges read true once again.Since then, all has been well. Havent had chance to check diagrams…any thoughts?? (2011 +4 Duratec 2 litre.)

Last weekend driving home from a Morgan lunch in the wet Waikato my Tacho decided to rest, never happened before and after sitting in a garage for a couple of hours came back to life, i guess just proving that it is a genuine Morgan..

On Belle the indicators stopped & the car wouldn't start once stopped. It was the starter relay coming loose. I replaced it and all is well. The starter relay feeds power to the ECU & I think BCU.
I would check the relays are a good fit & the push fit of connectors to the BCU etc in case they are loose.

Doug, the only component I can find common to those instruments is the 20 way Caerbont instrument module connector (not all pins are used). On the chassis loom side of this connector the relevant wires are green/black - fuel gauge and a green/blue - engine temp signal with latter coming from engine loom on white/green wire which shares signal with ECU.

Thankfully the PCB doesn't seem involved and no relays either. Might be worth breaking then making the connector plus the usual check on associated chassis/ground connections if the fault(s) reappear.

Thanks Richard. We are on tour in ROI at moment, so will leave well alone till we return home next week.
Thanks for advice. Is that connector sited behind the dash board?

Yes Doug, 150mm from where the main loom breaks out to fusebox sub loom.
