It's Morgan MOT time again and as well as the resident old Bedford these two were in the garage today. Both pretty scarce around these parts now. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/06/10/IMG_20230610_082719.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/06/10/IMG_20230610_082547.jpeg) I've had my share of bad luck this month with my back giving up on me again but the car sailed through which is always a relief.

A couple of work colleagues back in the 70's had one each. I remember being told that on a french holiday 160km was covered on the autoroute du sud in one hour. Happy times

I do like that Scimitar - always had a soft spot for them. There was a house on my paper round that always had a nearly new Scimitar which sparked my interest in them. And then Middlebridge set up in Beeston on my commute route when they took over the rights. Driving past and seeing cars on their forecourt was interesting. I cannot remember how long Middlebridge lasted though.

Currently trying to bludgeon this into the rough shape of a racecar to maybe do a bit of classic circuit racing ... full cage and plumbed fire extinguisher mostly in ... by coincidence we saw a Scimitar yesterday and Mrs Image said she quite fancied another one (we had one in the '80s and she transitioned from a 'definitely motorcycles only' Girl to a 'part-time car driver' on it) ... enjoyed the SE5 while we had it, but if I was going to put the work in on one it would have to be the SE4 Coupe version for me these days ... GTE was a fine loping mile eater in its day. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/06/10/20230610_115026.jpeg) K

Another trip down memory lane. Forecourt of the Chequered Flag , Chiswick some time in the 70's. Now what would be your choice? ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/3sKwE8l.jpg)

That's a good forecourt, the TR6 for me as I never tried but often lusted. Those wing mirrors on the GTE
