One of my pals has terminal cancer.
I’ve just completed a two year rolling restoration of a Morris Traveller and both my wife and I enjoy it very much
My pal wants to enjoy his remaining time with a traveller and admires mine so much he’s asked if he can buy it
Today I’ve sold it to him!
Wife thinks I’m nuts but I’m ok with the outcome.
Moral dilemma solved!
2012 Plus 4 in Sport Green. Much comfier than the Plus 8!

Well Done, you have done the right thing, and as you say you would rather be the person selling the car you don't want to sell than being the person having cancer.
Maybe you might be able to buy the car back later on.
