I am considering the purchase of either a post 2017 3.7 Roadster or a V8 between 1999 -2004 and have a strong preference for alloys. Has anyone experience of the Morgan centre lock alloys fitted to some V8’s as I understand there are 2 possible issues: 1. The centre nut can be very difficult to undo and a long bar may be needed? 2. It seems that these wheels are no longer available so in the case of any damage , all 5 would have to be replaced either with wires or aftermarket knock on wheels? Would appreciate any views on this Thanks. Nick

The 3.7 Roadster has either 6.5 x 15" or 7 x 16" rims each with 170mm offset. This latter parameter may be a stumbling block for alloy centrelocks.

I have them on my Plus 8 and I modified the supplied socket and drilled the extension on it and welded a half inch by two foot bar on it, this is sufficient for tightening but you need a scaffold pole fitted over the modified socket to remove them - not a roadside job but it's worked for me for nine years. ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/06/14/P26-01-15_13.20.jpeg) I suspect spare wheels could possibly be available as when this car was first advertised by MR around a year ago it had the Lightweight factory alloys fitted Another dealer offered a full set around two years ago, so they do come up every so often. p.s. BHM have a lovely looking early Roadster in stock fitted with the Lightweight Alloys. ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/06/14/DSC06324.jpeg)

I do have a set of 4 lightweight alloys in my pension fund which I may be prepared to part with.

I have them on my Plus 8 and modified my socket to take a long bar / Torque wrench . Very happy with them as they are well made and I am always a little wary of wires . The fitting and removing experience is the same as that of Rich above .

Thanks guys - Richard - where did you get the socket from and what size is it? Nick Nick, it came with the car but sans a bar I have never measured it before.. It's 3" or 77mm in new money.

The dimension is 70.15. I have already turned and milled such bases. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/11/26/0EA31C33-E0CB-41E8-9A04-9AA1E82A96BE.md.jpeg)

Clemens, with respect yours are the standard size (a lot smaller by 6.85mm) but the very Limited Edition Morgan Lightweight Alloys have a totally different sizing hence the OP question. They are 7" X 16" rims so larger than the standard 15" and with the deep section tyre wall combine to give a better ride than the smaller wheels, I had a good comparison with my first Plus 8 on 15" alloys. Only optional for the Plus 8 cars for a very limited time in the late 1990's and look like this, they were a £1674:38 option according to my cars original invoice supplied to me by the previous owner. ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2017/12/17/nocompromise3.jpg) As fitted to my 24 year old from the factory. ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2017/08/30/P20-12-14_12.46.jpg)
